Chonburi will become the first of six eastern provinces to implement a
Natural Resources and Environment Ministry program to increase garbage
recycling.
Suthee Thapnonghee, director of the Pattaya Environmental Office, chaired the
May 15 “Clean Green City” meeting with Environmental Office Region 13 in
Chonburi and the provincial office of the Natural Resources and Environment
Ministry.
A ministry study showed that Pattaya is facing a serious waste-disposal problem,
with garbage piling up in the city and on Koh Larn.
Pollution Control Department head Thanapong Rattawuthinant announced guidelines
and reasons for the project stating that the pollution from waste is causing a
severe environmental issue.
The Clean Green City plan calls for an end-to-end waste-disposal plan focused on
recycling.
