Pattaya Sports Club elects new committee members
The newly elected Pattaya
Sports Club Executive Committee:
William Macey
The second Saturday of June is, arguably, the most important day in
the Pattaya Sports Club calendar, for this is the day that the Annual
General Meeting is held to give the opportunity to the Elective Members (EM)
to vote on who will form the Executive Committee (EC) for the following 12
months.
The EC is so important to the continued success of PSC and this year’s event
was eagerly awaited, as 5 members of the existing EC were standing down
after many years of service to PSC, and names had been put forward as
replacements. Many members have business and family commitments elsewhere at
various times of the year but want to be involved in the selection process
by discussing their thoughts with a friend and presenting them with their
proxies, but 65 EM’s attended with 14 proxy votes.
PSC President Peter Malhotra
addresses club members at the meeting.
The meeting was opened by the acting President Peter
Malhotra, and his report echoed the concerns of many about the dwindling
number of tourists as a result of the political situation in Bangkok, but
PSC numbers are holding firm and the club was in a healthy position at the
end of the financial year. The new website is proving very popular and, with
the introduction of Facebook, the name of PSC is being is being projected
all over the world. Peter concluded his speech by thanking the PSC staff and
the members of the EC for their efforts.
The financial report confirmed that PSC is in a strong financial position
and a small surplus was obtained. This was followed by the charity report
which showed that the club had donated more than 3 million baht during the
year to 60 different projects and joint ventures carried out with Jesters,
Rotary, TFI and YWCA.
The golf report confirmed the strong ties the PSC has with the EGA of
Thailand and one of the club’s major sponsors in the Boon Rawd Brewery
(Singha) who contributed to many events by donating prizes and many free
drinks, which is always welcome. Appreciation for the efforts of the
management at the Town In Town Hotel in helping to make the two parties and
the AGM a success was voiced by the Social Chairman, Nigel Cannon.
PSC members listen attentively
at the club’s AGM, held at the Town in Town Hotel on June 14.
So to the election of the Office Bearers: It is
refreshing to note that there are members that are happy to give their time
to standing on the EC as was the case when the election of Golf Chairman,
Secretary and Vice President took their turn, for there was more than one
candidate put forward for each position. At the end of the voting this
year’s committee will consist of the following:
President - Peter Malhotra
Vice President - Joe Mooneyham
Secretary - George Bennision
Treasurer - Bob Lindborg
Charity Chairman - William Macey
Golf Chairman - Mark West
Social Chairman - Nigel Cannon
Public Relations - Noy Emmerson
Registrar - Geoff Couch
Founder - Mike Johnston
The meeting closed with thanks given by new Club President Peter Malhotra
for a constructive meeting and the anticipation of another successful year.

Thai mini-marathon with a difference takes runners through the sea
Runners will enjoy the unique
opportunity to run a marathon in the sea.
The world’s only mini-marathon that covers a run through
the sea to an offshore island is to be held on 29 June, 2014, in Chumphon
province, one of Thailand’s most beautiful coastal regions, 468 kilometres
south of Bangkok on the Gulf of Thailand.
Known as the “Annual Run through the Sea to Pithak Island, 10th Lang Suan
Mini Marathon”, the 14-km race requires competitors to cover the final
kilometre by running through about 30 centimetres of low-tide seawater from
the mainland to Pithak Island.
The event is organised by the Chumphon Provincial Administrative
Organisation, Bang Num Jued Sub-district Administration Organisation, Paknam
Lang Suan Sub-district Administrative Organisation with the support of the
Tourism Authority of Thailand Chumphon Office and a number of public and
private sector organisations.
It is intended to promote and publicise health tourism and ecotourism in
Chumphon, one of Thailand’s new and emerging destinations bordered by
Myanmar to the West and the Gulf of Thailand to the East.
From the starting point near the Chakri Naruebet Ship Model in Paknam Lang
Suan, runners cover a beautiful coastal road before hitting the last
kilometre stretch to Pithak Island. Another shorter marathon, called “Run
Fun Run”, covers only 3.5 kilometres from the starting point at the Mu 12
village centre in Lang Suan district but also ending at Pithak Island.
Thawatchai Arunyik, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand said, “We
invite runners from all over the world to take part in this unique
mini-marathon. There is nothing quite like this anywhere in the world,
presenting a wonderful opportunity for running enthusiasts to compete in a
race with a difference.”
Pithak Island has beautiful rocks and many fishing villages. When the tide
is low, visitors can walk from the shore to the island. For more information

Brass Monkey miss out on the title
Bangkok Casuals Football League Div. 2
Paul Frain
Brass Monkey took on second place team The Sportsman last weekend,
with the rights to be crowned second division champions on the line.
A heavy shower in Bangkok made the pitch slippery but both teams showed
their attacking intent straight from the kick-off. The Sportsman were the
first to go close as the center-forward gained some space on the break and
brought a good save from Brass keeper Yongui. Brass fought back and started
to control the midfield with their slick passing but they fell behind to a
piece of misfortune as Yongui’s clearance hit a Sportsman player and the
ball rebounded into an empty net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
The Pattaya team fought to get back on level terms and Vorontzov’s free
header from a corner flew just wide before Gavrylyshed’s curling cross-shot
stretched the Sportsman’s keeper and was cleared to safety. Brass continued
to press but they were unable to make any inroads before half-time.
After the break, Brass took the game once more to The Sportsman but the
Pattaya forwards spurned chance after chance and when Gavrylyshen’s shot was
cleared off the line it seemed that it was not to be their day.
Against the run of play The Sportsman gained a corner with the ball being
cleared and falling to a Sportsman player on the halfway line. He then made
a fine run and sent a shot past the Brass keeper to make it 2-0.
With this setback Brass still attacked the Sportsman’s goal and gained a
free kick and an inch perfect center found the head of Matveev who made no
mistake to make the score 2-1. Brass still pressed and a wonderful lob by
Brass’s Dipita seemed destined to find the open goal until a Sportsman
defender appeared from nowhere to head clear from under the bar and keep the
score at 2-1.
Brass continued attacking until the end but they couldn’t find the finish
when chances were created and the final whistle brought disappointment and
the realization of a runners-up spot instead of being division champions.
Brass’s season is still alive however as this coming weekend they play a
semi-final match in Bangkok, kick off at 4-00p.m.

Odnoral takes long walk to victory
PSC golf from The Outback Golf Bar
(From left): Tony Aslett, Greg Hill, David Davies, Paul Greenaway
and John Stafford.
Monday, June 9, Burapha - Stableford
The four groups of Outbackers had the course to themselves and as usual were
away half an hour early and finished in under four hours. After about three
weeks of A & B, we were back on the C and D nines which were in great condition,
apart from some inconsistency with the bunkers.
Kim Danboise continued his great form to win with 39pts from Bob Finley with 38.
Pete Stonebridge came third on count back from Tim Knight, both with 36 pts.
Bob Lindborg had the only ‘2’ of the day.
1st Kim Danboise (18) 39pts
2nd Bob Finley (13) 38pts
3rd Pete Stonebridge (18) 36pts
4th Tim Knight (27) 36pts
Wednesday, June 11, Thai Country Club - Stableford
We had a much easier journey up to the course compared with our
previous visit to Thai Country Club. There was no traffic, very little
road-works and no-one got lost; resulting a very comfortable one hour and
fifteen minute ride.
We were warmly greeted by the staff, although we were shifted to the second
class changing rooms, which were slightly disappointing but completely
functional. We were ready to go at around 10.30, so with some time to wait for
our scheduled two-tee start at 11.15, the 15 players relaxed until our time was
due. However, the course was not unduly busy and after about 10 minutes we were
called to start, all four groups off the first.
This time we tried the blue tees, as many had said they found the white tees a
little short but that extra 500 odd yards and a good wind blowing turned the
course into a totally different kettle of fish! The index 3 par 4 on the back
nine measured some 410 yards but after smacking one’s country best drive (not
mine) down the fairway, there was still another 230 yards to go!
The best score of the day of 35pts was recorded by Nick Odnoral, which included
about an 800 metre jog round a lake and back as he managed to carve his tee shot
off to the right on the 197yd par 3 6th, his ball coming to rest the other side
of a massive lake. Carts weren’t allowed on the fairway, so the only way to get
there was on foot. It proved well worth it, as we watched in amazement, thinking
he’d been caught short as he was making off to the drinks stop, but he jogged
past that, found his ball – chipped over the water – jogged all the way back and
then got up and down, to post a 4 for 2; the difference between winning and
losing. Well done Nick!
Kim Danboise featured again, following his win on Monday; this time settling for
second place with 34, saying afterwards that he really loved the course,
especially the greens which Kim says are tifeagle grass. Tim Knight took third
with 31pts, with Suzi one shot back and Steve Mann completing the podium heading
a three-way count back on 29.
There were no ‘2’s.
As we started ahead of time, everybody took the time to enjoy the delights of
the clubhouse, where we were able to complete the presentation and get back to
the Outback before dark.
1st Nick Odnoral (15) 35pts
2nd Kim Danboise (18) 34pts
3rd Tim Knight (27) 31pts
4th Suzi Lawton (23) 30pts
5th Stephen Mann (10) 29pts
Friday, June 13m Green Valley - Stableford
On an overcast and much cooler day of late, a good field of 29
Outbackers played at the popular Green Valley course.
The scoring was generally excellent with only 5 players in the field failing to
reach 30pts, which must be a bit of a record. The top score of the day was
recorded by Peter Nixon in Div A with 39pts, beating Paul Greenaway by one and
Sel Wegner back in third on 36.
Greg Hill bounced back from his poor back nine at Thai Country Club on
Wednesday, with 38pts to win Div B from Bob Lindborg and John Stafford.
A relatively small Div C was won by David Davies with 35 from a stranger to the
podium, Tony Aslett, who beat Tim Knight on count back.
There were four ‘2’s from Bob Lindborg (8th), John Stafford & Dennis Pelly
(12th) and Paul Greenaway (16th).
Div A (0–15)
1st Peter Nixon (11) 39pts
2nd Paul Greenaway (07) 38pts
3rd Sel Wegner (15) 36pts
Div B (16-20)
1st Greg Hill (20) 38pts
2nd Bob Lindborg (20) 37pts
3rd John Stafford (18) 36pts
Div C (21+)
1st David Davies (25) 35pts
2nd Tony Aslett (24) 34pts
3rd Tim Knight (27) 34pts

Team 1000k triumphed in the extreme category.
A record attendance of over 160 teams took part in the 9th
edition of the River Kwai Trophy in Kanchanaburi on May 31- this year sponsored
by Singha and dubbed “The Singha River Kwai International Trophy 2014”.
The most popular adventure race in Asia unraveled under a scorching sun, with
competitors crossing the world renowned bridge over the River Kwai followed by a
race day charged with a good natured but competitive sporting atmosphere.
Race entrants ventured out on a carefully crafted course of 61km, consisting of
running through farmland and rocky hills, swimming across muddy lakes and the
Kwai River, kayaking down the meandering river and mountain biking on thrilling
trails- all in the spirit of experiencing the great outdoors that the Thai
countryside has on offer.
The competition was split into 2 main categories: extreme and adventure. The

Muffy makes light work of Green Valley
PSC golf from The Golf Club
Steve Ellison
Monday, June 9, Green Valley (white tees) –
Stableford
1st Muffy Kerr (12) 40pts
2nd Anders Pedersen (10) 38pts
T3rd Andy Makara (24) 37pts
T3rd Neil Cameron (12) 37pts
A perfect day for golf greeted us today as we all turned up at the desk
right on time for another round at our home course, Rayong Green Valley. The
course was in absolutely beautiful condition even though we were not playing
absolutely beautiful golf, oh well!
David
Ferris.
With a bit of water about and the chance of rain over our heads, Cap’t. Phil
decided that ‘lift, clean and place’ would be the order of the day and it
turned out to be the right call for there were some mucky lies out there.
Remember, we are here to have some fun!
There was a bit of side action with a Scotland v. Rest of the World match as
Phil and myself were thoroughly smashed by Mark Wood and Neil Cameron, but
nice to see some great shots played by the Blue & Whites.
The day turned out to belong to Muffy Kerr, playing with his sons Jason and
Ty. The Loudmouth Lads tore up the course and Big Daddy rose to the top with
a sweet 40 at the end of it all.
Wednesday, June 11, Burapha A & B (white tees) –
Stableford
T1st David Ferris (25) 32pts
T1st Serge Straeten (18) 32pts
2nd Phil Smedley (9) 29pts
We don’t get out to Burapha as much as we should, but this is one of
Pattaya’s quality golf destinations. Khun Mike has done a great job
developing and promoting this complex, which is the host to many Asian Tour
events.
Our fearless Golf Captain, Mr. Phil Smedley, got up on the podium with just
29 points on his card, still good enough for a third place spot. The man
with a 25 handicap, Dave Ferris, ended with a first place finish and a big
tuna salad, to tie with our mon ami Serge Straeten, each with 32 Stableford
points. Well played Dave, we knew you could do it!
Thank you again to all who joined us this week and for your support of TGC.

Conclusive win for Nilsson
The Pattaya Golf Society (IPGC) at the Elephant Bar
Brian Beaupre and Tomas Nilsson.
The Pattaya Golf Society travelled to Bangpra
on Monday, 9th June to play a stableford competition on the popular course which
had suffered a pounding with almost two hours of incessant rain just hours
before the group got there, making the fairways soft and wet, with some minor
flooding still evident.
Serious golfers will always accept the challenge and the group started on time.
As expected the scores were not high, as Akifumi Tate and Wichai Tananusorn
showed as they tied for second place with 31 points. One of the group’s most
consistent golfers currently is Swede Tomas Nilsson and he got to grips with the
task well returning with 35 points for an excellent and convincing win.
Akifumi Tate recorded the day’s only 2, on the picturesque eighth hole and David
Thomas received the accolade of “non-winner of the day” as his card was drawn
for the bar’s consolation beer. The Booby Bevy went to Peter Sanderson whose
suffered cartilage damage after seven holes but bravely continued to accompany
his group through to the end. Stout stuff Peter, well done mate!
One notable absentee at the presentation was Khun Wichai and the group were as
one in wishing him “bon voyage” as he sets off on his annual European “tour”.
Big guns face off
at Burapha
On Wednesday, 11th June the Pattaya Golf Society visited
the exquisite course at Burapha to play a stableford competition on the C and D
nines and found a course in very good condition and relatively empty. Given the
course setup and the nature of the field it was anticipated that a tight affair
would be on the cards and so it was to be. Whilst many in the field were
negotiating the course, especially the scenic D nine, for the first time, others
were enjoying pitting their skills against a course often used for major Thai
events.
Low handicappers would have a field day and in third place was the consistent
Swedish golfer Tomas Nilsson with 34 points. At the head of the field were
current PGS Champion Chris Smith and Canadian golfer Brian Beaupre, both
offering quality golf to the event. Individually they went head to head from the
start and issues were not resolved until the final hole when Brian completed a
round of gross 73 to give him 40 points to Chris’s gross 71 and 39 points. The
difference was basically Brian’s birdie 2 on C5 and with this he shared the 2’s
pot with Akifumi Tate who had accomplished the feat on C8.
The Booby Bevy went to Larry Slattery after his feeble excuse involving a caddy
and a fairway sprinkler did not persuade his playing partners that an
“incontinent” moment had not occurred on the ninth hole! If Pattaya golfers had
shared a better day than PGS it must have been very good indeed.
A rare win for
the boss
The Pattaya Golf Society ended a fine week with a visit to
Khao Kheow on Friday, 13th June to play a stableford competition on the A and B
nines which were soft and damp after daily drenchings. The greens were good but
those on the B nine were quite a bit quicker and golfers were caught out after
the turn and had to adjust.
As a result scores were on the low side and highlights of the front nine were
the birdie 2’s recorded by Jesper Hansen and Mr Len on A5. Larry Slattery
finished in third place on 30 points whilst David Thomas went one better for the
runner up slot with 31. The day’s winner, still nursing a broken toe, was Mr Len
whose nerve held for a rare win with 33 points.
Akifumi took the bar’s consolation beer and the Booby Bevy went to John Tallett
who visited sand five times on the final hole, eventually putting out from the
greenside bunker on B9.
Khao Kheow makes great demands from golfers but there are very few who can deny
its charms.

Tom McCarthy sails in
IPGC golf from The Haven
Tom McCarthy and Ron Wilson.
Monday, June 9, Mt. Shadow - Stableford
CSS 72
1st Allen Raaen (7) 36pts
2nd Trevor Schirmer (15) 33pts
3rd Markku Tynell (22) 31pts
4th Bruce Hilde (17) 28pts
An interesting set of courses for the week started at the never easy
Mountain Shadow, which had been originally planned to be used by golfers
with handicaps of fifteen and below and always certainly plays even harder
than that standard. Once again the course came out the winner with just the
leader as the only player able to make par, and playing to the standard of
within two of handicap at least the CSS for the day remained at a level 72.
Allen Raaen, as that winner, had another solid round, after starting out
scoreless on the first hole he then buckled down to garner 20 points on the
front followed by a steady 16 on the back and led in the pack by three
clear.
Trevor Schirmer ran him the closest in second after also having a steady
level handicap nine going out followed by a slightly weaker 15 points coming
back, which was marred by a couple of blobs, otherwise he could well have
been on the top of the podium for the day.
Markku Tynell is always there or there abouts when the scores are not over
the top and once again this was proven to be so as he took third place
another two behind Trevor, and three ahead of Bruce Hilde in fourth.
Once again there were no 2’s in the second division but Allen Raaen added to
his day’s haul with the sole one in the first division.
Wednesday, June 11, Khao Kheow A & B - Stableford
CSS 74
1st Ron Wilson (11) 34pts
2nd Allen Raaen (7) 33pts
3rd Markku Tynell (22) 28pts
4th Terry Hodgkiss (22) 27pts
5th Bruce Hilde (17) 27pts
6th Victor Moshonkin (13) 27pts
The second outing to the always difficult Khao Kheow layout, where the A and
B courses were the day’s test, also proved to be a hard slog although the
course was in much better shape than the previous week, with the greens
having been shaved down a bit and looking and playing a lot better. Even so,
scoring was again at a premium with the best of the day being 34 points, but
just enough to keep the day counting for handicap although the CSS for the
went up to 74.
New member Ron Wilson was totally unperturbed by the course’s reputation,
not having played it previously, which may well have assisted in his well
deserved win just one ahead of Allen Raaen, who just failed to repeat the
form of his last round and therefore had to settle for second spot.
Markku Tynell was again to be found lurking in third place and even allowing
for a less than sparkling eight over handicap, it was still one better than
the fight out for fourth and a lot better than many others on the day.
There was a three-way count back for the fourth spot with Terry Hodgkiss
taking it with a best of 14, leaving Bruce Hilde in fifth after he won on
the back six with a better 10 to Victor Moshonkin’s 8 after they had tied
the nine at 13 apiece.
Ron Wilson had the sole 2 in the first division to make it a very happy
first outing with the Soi 13 group whilst Markku Tynell finally cleaned out
the multi roll over in the second division, which was greeted with much
delight by the rest of the group as one could imagine.
Friday, June 13, Treasure Hill - Stableford
CSS 73
1st Tom McCarthy (22) 42pts
2nd Bruce Hilde (17) 35pts
3rd Shuichi Kodaka (19) 33pts
4th Victor Moshonkin (13) 31pts
5th Trevor Schirmer (15) 28pts
After the rigours of the previous two outings in the week there were few
that were looking forward to taking on Treasure Hill after a night of heavy
rain, even though the tees were being played from the slightly easier yellow
positions. Most of the worriers had good cause, but the top three finishers
at least could take some pride in their rounds, especially the winner.
Tom McCarthy, who had not played since October back in the States, using the
driver bequeathed to him by Karen, Rodney Hayes’ daughter last year after
the latter had sadly passed away, found that it had not lost any of the old
magic as it consistently found the fairway from the tees.
Tom led the group in over the front nine by a clear three shots and after
the turn the gap finally widened to seven, as he cruised into his maiden win
with his new found treasure, closing out his day in the sun with 22 points
on the back nine, even slipping in a serious anchor, zero, on the last hole.
One sobering note, next week will see him playing from a handicap three
strokes lower.
Bruce Hilde, after a quiet beginning to the day, forced his way onto the
second step of the podium with a stunning inward half of three under
handicap, which pushed Shuichi Kodaka down a place by returning a better
score by five strokes over the nine, leaving Shuichi in third place.
Victor Moshonkin kept the Eastwood flag flying with a fourth place, ending
the day a couple of shots adrift but still three ahead of fifth placed
Trevor Schirmer who had only his long drive to recount in the bar later.
There were no 2’s in the second division, but Lex McDonald slipped in the
sole one for the first division.

Chatt has ‘the knowledge’ at Pattavia
Jomtien Golf with the IPGC
(Left to right): Mike Chatt, Rod Howett and
Ger Lodge.
Monday, June 9, Pattavia –
Stableford
With the new clubhouse now open reports coming in from
various groups still rate this course, and the comments after the round
from our players were very complimentary, especially regarding the
condition on the greens.
Playing off 12, Mike Chatt, the ex-London black cab driver, scored 20
points on the front nine and 15 on the back to win division 1 with 35 in
total. Chris Slota came in second two points behind and surprisingly
with his new 4,000 baht putter Chris Voller took third with 31.
Rod Howett topped division 2 with a meagre 33 points ahead of Pepo Frick
in second on 31 and Larry Leibowitz, the volunteer Walking Street
policeman, was third on 30.
Alan Bissell birdied the 138yd fourth hole for the only ‘2’ in division
2 while a rollover ensued to Plutaluang on Wednesday in division 1.
Near pins went to Mike Chatt, Terry Madsen (2), Alan Bissell and John
Dearden
Wednesday, June 11, Plutaluang - Stableford
We booked to play the North and West courses today and we
teed-off 15 minutes ahead of our scheduled time. As always in this area
there were many dark and gloomy clouds rolling around in the background
but this was no problem today as there was no rain throughout the round.
Ger Lodge recorded the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 37
points. Sid Ottaway came in second two points behind Ger and Roar Berger
took third after beating Bryan Priestley 18/16 on a back nine count back
after both came in with 33 points each. This was not too upsetting for
Bryan as he is now in love with the caddy at the nine-hole course in
Baan Saray.
Eiichi Matsumoto beat Phil Clerehan 17/16 on the back nine to win
division 1 after they both returned scores of 34 and in third place with
33 was Chris Voller.
Near pins were claimed by Mike Chatt, Grenville Hill, Terry Madsen (2),
Sid Ottaway (2) and Bryan Priestley.
There were no ‘2’s in division 1 Ger Lodge managed to birdie the
lighthouse hole to scoop the pool in division 2.
Friday, June 13, Eastern Star - Stableford
Our highest turnout of the week saw us take seven four-balls
to Eastern Star with the equal cut in the field at 5-19 and 20 and
above.
As we teed off there was a strong cool breeze coming off the coast which
made a pleasant change and kept it cool throughout the round.
Two 39 point scores came in, with Karl Flood winning division 1 and Iain
Walsh doing the same in division 2. Chris Slota took second behind Karl
in the top tier on 36 points and Ger Lodge beat Arthur Hancock 17/14 on
the back nine for third after they both came in with 33 points each.
Rod Howett was the runner-up in the second flight, beating Joe Kubon
19/18 on the back nine after they both returned scores of 36.
Bill Bertram birdied the 17th to take the rollover ‘2’s pot in division
1 and Fred O’Connor was the only claimant today in division 2.
Near pins were shared between Bill Bertram, Tony Bless, Kissy Buchanan,
Ger Lodge, Fred O’Connor (2) and Chris Slota.

A tongue-twisting leaderboard
Travellers Rest Golf Group
Derek Thorogood - winner
at Pattavia Century.
Andy Rich
Just when I was thinking that this was going to be the week all the winners
had unpronounceable names after Terry Mishofski won on Monday, and
Rungratree Puangsal won on Wednesday, along came Derek Thorogood on Friday
to ruin it all. I sometimes wonder what sports commentators really think
when they look down the list of names of competitors and wonder how they are
going to get through the programme without looking like a complete idiot. So
my sympathy this week goes out to the commentators of the England versus Sri
Lanka cricket match trying to get their tongues around Dimuth Karunaratne or
Lahiru Thirimanne.
Monday, June 9,
Plutaluang - Stableford
The TRGG started off the week at Plutaluang, which is not the
most straightforward name for a golf course and is generally known as the
Navy Course. It is however one of the most picturesque and you get the
choice of four nine holes; North, South East and West.
On Monday the TRGG played the East and South courses and there were some
very good winning scores. So in naval terms the aforementioned Terry
Mishofski ended up as Admiral for the day and he was followed home by
Captain Ito Akitoshi (I know the names don’t get any easier) in second and
Ship’s Mate Fergus Brennan came in third.
1st Terry Mishofski (17) 38pts
2nd Ito Akitoshi (9) 37pts
3rd Fergus Brennan (12) 37pts
Wednesday, June 11,
Khao Kheow - Stableford
On Wednesday it was off to Khao Kheow (A & B courses) and
suddenly we were back to high season numbers on the day, so two divisions
were required.
That name that just trips off the tongue, Rungratree Puangsal, who stormed
home with 40pts to win Division 1, with last week’s winners Jim Cleaver and
Neil Bramley finishing in second and third respectively.
Monday’s winner Terry Mishofski did it again by finishing top of Division 2,
while Charlie Cox and John Pinkowski took second and third.
Div.1 (0-12)
1st Rungratree Puangsal (11) 40pts
2nd Jim Cleaver (8) 38pts
3rd Neil Bramley (9) 36pts
Div.2 (13+)
1st Terry Mishofski (16) 37pts
2nd Charlie Cox (19) 36pts
3rd John Pinkowski (22) 33pts
Friday, June 13,
Pattavia - Stableford
On Friday things returned to normal for the visit to Pattavia
Century, formerly Century Chonburi, and it was Derek Thorogood who brought
the winner’s name back to being manageable as well. Neil Bramley again made
it onto the winner’s podium in second and Geoff Pearse trooped in third.
1st Derek Thorogood (17) 36pts
2nd Neil Bramley (9) 35pts
3rd Geoff Pearse (25) 34pts
Good luck to all you golfers for the coming week and if you would like to
play a round of golf with the TRGG please phone Fergus Brennan on 086 056
7019 or pop into the Ned Kelly Bar in Soi Lengkee and add your name to the
weekly lists which are posted on the notice board.

Landis tames Bangpra
PSC golf from Tropical Bert’s
Landis Brooks flanked by Barry and Tom.
Dick Warberg
Tuesday, June 10, Bangpra – Stableford
Tuesday saw 13 golfers meet at Tropical Bert’s, all eager
to head out for the day. Bangpra is one of the favorite venues and
everyone was looking forward to the challenge. Thick early morning
clouds gave cause for concern, but by tee-off time the clouds were
scattered and we stayed dry – except for sweat – the entire round.
Bangpra has fine facilities, though we were bit confused upon
arrival when the desk said we could not pay for another 30 minutes.
We simply changed into the golf clothes first then paid the fee.
Weather this day was fine, scattered clouds and some breeze. Is it
just the imagination or has the weather finally changed from the
“Broiler” setting to just “Very Hot”? The course conditions were
also excellent.
Friday’s top three: Lindsay Shaw, Peter
Holloway and Bob Watson.
One group had comic relief watching a caddy chase down a monkey who
stole supplies from a golf bag. Eventually the “Ling” dropped the
goods and the caddy returned to the group victorious.
Playing from the white tees Bangpra is a fair challenge, and only
one person reached their handicap to take first place. That was
Landis Brooks (7) with 36 points. Second was claimed by Barry
Elphick (23) with 35 points, and Tom Herrington (16) took third on
33, just edging out the ever-present Mashi on count back.
Near pins went to Mashi Kaneta, Ray White, and Barry Elphick.
Friday, June 13, Greenwood – Stableford
It was Friday the 13th as the group met at Tropical
Bert’s for breakfast, and with the US Open in progress for
inspiration there was anticipation on who would be lucky this day
and who would have a black cat cross their putting line.
The drive up to Greenwood is longer than most courses in the
rotation, but is there a better course for the money? The fairways
were carpet-like and the greens fast and true.
Although there is no doubt it is still the hot time of the year this
day proved lucky indeed, with quite a bit of cloud cover and a
breeze keeping things quite tolerable. Greenwood is a fair test of
golf and the good conditions often show up in the final scores, and
such was the case on this day.
Back at Bert’s for refreshments and sustenance we eagerly awaited
the results on who was lucky this Friday and today it was clear that
Lindsay Shaw (H/cap 36) is not a superstitious man. He controlled
the field and the course with the round of the day totaling 41
points. Well done Lindsay!
Second place went to Lindsay’s buddy Peter Holloway (11) with a very
respectable 38 points and the always dangerous Bob Watson (7) took
third with 37, followed by David Nicholson (18) in fourth with 36
points, narrowly beating out Mr. “In-the-Money” Mashi Kaneta (14) on
a count back.
With the winner ringing the bell, the world was put right over the
next couple of hours.
Near pin prizes went to Bob Watson, Ted Morris, and Walter Baechli.

Ladies lead the way at Green Valley
PSC golf from The Billabong Golf Bar
Barney, Mark, Fon and Greig Ritchie.
Monday, June 9, Eastern Star - Stableford
Eastern Star was the plan of attack today, and the last time we played
here the course was in great condition. Today it was pretty much the
same apart from some of the greens which were a bit dodgy; however we
all played the same course so no complaints.
Playing from the shorter yellow tees didn’t seem to make much difference
as the scoring was ordinary to say the least. Taking fourth place was
John Player with 33 points while coming in third was Tip Briney with 34,
being beaten on a count back by Phil Waite, and in first place was Greg
Hill with 35 points; all not a bad efforts chaps considering we only
played about 6000 yards. But maybe another day we will beat it!
There were no ‘2’s, just Mal’s hard luck story about the one that got
away.
Wednesday, June 11, Green Valley - Stableford
We played Green Valley as our normal venue for Wednesday, and
the course was in grand condition. With six groups playing we got away
early and were back in the clubhouse in under four hours. There was no
rain but some heavy cloud kept it a bit cooler.
The scores were unbelievable good with 38 points not getting a mention
at all. It was a girls’ day out today as they took line honours with
some fantastic efforts. I must say a big thank you to Eng Cotterell and
Orn for going out in a three-ball at the front with Owen. And Kevin, if
your reading this whilst on the rig I know you will send your
congratulations to George as he got the only ‘2’ of the day but you
would have taken the 100 baht mate as his total points were a mere 24.
There was a count back for third place between Bogie Bill Marsden and
Sel Wegner, both with 39 point, with Sel just getting the better of it.
Second place meanwhile went to Jittina Tinpranee (Orn) with a fantastic
41 points but alas it wasn’t quite good enough as Boribun Bangbon (Owie)
took the top prize with 42 points. Well done!
Friday, June 13,
Mt. Shadow - Stableford
We teed off at Mountain Shadow on Friday at 9.30 a.m. and
were back at the bar just after 2 p.m. The course was in grand condition
and the greens as fast as hell, which is usual here. The showers in the
clubhouse have been revamped and are now a pleasure to use.
A big thank you to George Barrie for looking after the boys today as
Capt Bob had a day out at the new Waterside Park, and what a course that
is when you consider it has only been open for a few weeks and it is
well worth the money to go and play it.
But back to Mountain Shadow and Greig Ritchie stole the day with 36
points ahead of John Baikie in second and Mark Williams took third on a
count back over George Barrie and Phil Waite, all with 32 points.
Barney Clarkson recorded the only ‘2’ of the day.
Note: The Billabong is situated just off Siam Country Club Road
looking straight down Lake Mabprachan. Give Bob a call on 082 204 3411
if you are looking for a game.

Robbins takes the win at Pattavia
PSC golf Bunker Boys @ The Ranch
Thomas Nyborg (center)
receives the Golfer of the Month trophy for May.
Monday, June 9, Royal Lakeside –
Stableford
Only 9 players for our trip to Royal Lakeside, however it did include
Big Barry Murnin just back from the States, welcome back.
This is one of the best courses we play but the journey deters a few and
it’s certainly a tough test from the blue tees. The course was in
excellent condition; the greens although lightly sanded, ran very true
and fast enough and also the bunkers have now settled in and are very
fair. The course was almost empty and our first three-ball went round in
3 hours.
It was always going to be a challenge and the strong wind made the
longer par 4’s even more daunting than usual. Tony Robbins started off
strongly, but the wheels fell off at the turn and his 27pts put him
firmly in last place. Geoff (Once in a Blue Moon) Cox with 20pts on the
front nine set a fierce pace and despite a strong effort from the
persistently consistent Gerry Cooney, Geoff won comfortably with 36pts.
Gerry came second with 33pts and Shaun Murphy a close third with 32. All
the winners came from the last group.
Play of the day was provided by Steve Durey who went thru the green on
the par-three 15th, bladed his chip almost into the drinks station and
then sank a 70yd pitch for a routine par!
Only three near pins were claimed, by Geoff Cox, Mike Lloyd and Tony
Robbins.
1st Geoff Cox (15) 36pts
2nd Gerry Cooney (13) 33pts
3rd Sean Murphy (15) 32pts
Wednesday, June 11, Pleasant Valley – Stableford
Following calls from Mashi to tell me how bad the sanded
greens were at Bangpakong, we made a late switch to Pleasant Valley. It
nearly backfired on us as we started on the back nine and after the
first hole found 3 groups waiting on the 11th tee behind a holidaying
6-ball (they were having great fun, I counted 30 putts on one hole and
they were picking up when close!!). A quick visit to the clubhouse
brought out the marshall who let us all through over 2 holes, and we
then sailed along finishing in 3.5 hours. As we finished, the 6-ball
were putting out on their 11th hole.
The course continues to mature; the fairways were excellent but the
bunkers still need attention and the greens were very mixed, which made
judging the speed of putts interesting. A few more hazard markers would
also be appreciated.
Mike Lloyd (hcp.14) finally made it in his last game before leaving on
Friday, his 35pts beating Tony Robbins (hcp.14) also 35 on the count
back.
Only three near pins were claimed, by Paul Carey, Tony Robbins and Colin
Greig.
1st Mike Lloyd (15) 35pts
2nd Tony Robbins (14) 35pts
3rd Sean Murphy (15) 31pts
Friday, June 13, Pattavia – Stableford
We’re now really into the low season and only 7 golfers made
the very worthwhile trip to Pattavia. The course (greens, fairways, tees
and bunkers) was in excellent condition and the rough was really rough.
The greens were also fast and very tricky, especially if you made the
mistake of getting above the hole. All in all the course is tremendous
value at THB 550 green fee.
Everybody really enjoyed it except Peter Habgood, whose club went
further than his ball off the first tee and after a few holes of many
putts he declared his total hatred of the course and vowed never to
return. Then with a further 13 holes to play he topped his next tee shot
only to have his caddie pick up his ball and suggest he try again. As
you can imagine, he was somewhat peeved.
Meanwhile the rest of us enjoyed the game. PJ Redmond and Tony Robbins
both went out with 19 points, closely followed by Dave Keats with 17.
Tony’s good form continued on the back nine with 20 points followed by
Dave with 18. PJ faded and wasn’t helped by falling backwards and
disappearing from sight into a drainage ditch on the 14th hole,
fortunately the caddie went to his rescue and both emerged unscathed and
grinning.
The par three’s are tough here and today only one near pin was hit, so
Sean Murphy scooped the pool.
1st Tony Robbins (14) 39pts
2nd Dave Keats (32) 35pts
3rd PJ Redmond (29) 32pts
Note: The Bunker Boys are a PSC affiliated golf society, who now
play out of The Ranch bar on Pattaya 3rd Road (in front of the fire
station, and almost opposite the Buffalo Bar). We play on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays, so if you enjoy a fun day out, and a friendly
but competitive golf competition why not come and join us. We meet at
The Ranch at 9 a.m. and new players are always welcome.

Martin doubles up
PSC golf from Siam Country Resort
Neil Harvey & Martin Hayes.
Tuesday, June 10, Bangpra -
Stableford
Tuesday was our visit to Bangpra, made possible by joining with our
friends from Tropical Berts, Dick, Mashi et al. Thanks gentlemen!
The course was in good condition, with the fairways well grassed,
but dry, providing plenty of run off the tee, while the greens were
running true, although not as speedy as they can be.
Martin Hayes (15) was the clear leader with a solid 35 points, while
Neil Harvey (19) continues his recent run of form with a steady 32
points. Near pins went to Trev (The Great), and Jeff with 2.
Thursday, June 12, Greenwood - Stableford
Greenwood was our Thursday venue, with the C & B
combination the allotted test for the day. The course was in fine
condition, playing from the whites at a solitary yard short of
6,600, although it played shorter as the fairways were firm and
fast. The greens were also in good condition, with Martin Hayes (15)
finding them very much to his liking, as he holed several long
putts, to post a fine 37 points.
Neil Harvey (19) and Jeff Wylie (6) needed a count back to finalise
the minor placings, with Jeff getting the nod 18/16, after both
signed for 34 points. The near pins were split between Allan, who
unfortunately had to retire early due to aching feet, and Paul, who
is finding some form now he is playing more regularly.
Note: Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just
off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11,
turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200
metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday &
Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
As a PSC affiliated venue we welcome ALL golfers, including ladies &
seniors (>60s) who have opted for the “Silver” tee option. Call 089
094 1841 for scheduling or enquiries. Hope to see you there, cheers
& good golfing!

Hack & Hole win 2nd anniversary tournament
PSC golf from The Growling Swan
Ken Hole, Mashi Kaneta & Paul Hack.
Peter Blackburn
Monday, June 9, Greenwood – Stableford
It was a fine Monday morning in Pattaya and we were all
looking forward to a good day’s golf at Greenwood as we assembled at The
Growling Swan in readiness for our departure to the popular Greenwood
Golf Course.
When we arrived at the course there weren’t too many people there so
after being told it was to be the B & C nines we had a quick practice
putt and headed off to B1 where our first group, a three-ball, teed off
right on time at 10.00 am. We had a field of 22 plus The Reverend’s
lady, Wan, and in spritely fashion we proceeded off the white tees in
hot & humid conditions which thankfully was made more comfortable with
the help of at times a fairly stiff breeze.
Ken Hole, Niall Stuart & Peter Bye.
The course was in great shape with lush fairways and although the greens on
C9 had been recently sanded they were fine to putt on. We seemed always to
be playing into the stiff breeze in fact for the first time ever no-one was
able to get onto three of the four par-three greens from the tee. We took
our time as the three-ball in front of us disappeared into the distance and
our very enjoyable round of golf was completed in four & a half hours.
It was tight at the top in A Division with 2 golfers on 34 points (yes, that
was the highest score on the day) and the resultant count back saw Peter Bye
(16 point back nine & 13 points on the last 6 holes) declared the winner
with “Big” Bill Steinman (16 point back nine & 12 points on the last 6
holes) in second spot. Your writer, Peter “Blacky” Blackburn finished in
third place with 33 points.
More count backs were needed to sort out the place getters in Division B and
with 2 people on 32 points it was Ken Hole (19 point back nine) who was the
winner from Frank “Woody” Donnelly (17 point back nine) in second place.
There were 3 golfers on 30 points vying for third place and the count back
saw it going to Patrick Poussier (17 point back nine) with Dave Fletcher (14
point back nine) and John Anderson (14 point back nine) both missing out.
Division A (0-17)
1st Peter Bye (13) 34pts
2nd Bill Steinman (9) 34pts
3rd Peter Blackburn (12) 33pts
Division B (23+)
1st Ken Hole (20) 32pts
2nd Frank Donnelly (23) 32pts
3rd Patrick Poussier (23) 30pts
Near Pins: B5 – John Anderson
Long Putts: B9 – Gerd Riedler, C9 – Mark West
Thursday, June 12, Khao Kheow -
Divorce Pairs
It’s hard to believe that Growling Swan Golf has been going for
two years but here we are celebrating our second anniversary. We decided on
a “Divorce Pairs” (sometimes known as Russian Stableford) format with a
random draw, pairing a high handicapper with a low handicapper to make a
team of two. Each golfer plays his individual stableford game and at the end
of each hole the points scored for each team are multiplied by each other.
For example Player 1 scores 5 for 2 and Player 2 scores 4 for 3, 2 x 3 = 6
so that pair scores 6 points on that hole. The “Divorce” bit comes in when
one of the team has a wipe, i.e. Player 1 scores 3 for 4 and Player 2 wipes
the hole, 4 x 0 = 0!
The draw was done the afternoon before under close scrutiny and the starting
sheet was put on the notice board for all to see – there were a few moans
and groans but not too many.
The response for the event was fabulous and we had 36 starters ready to
participate and look forward to playing the classy Khao Kheow Golf & Country
Club.
We assembled at the course and all was reasonably quiet as we were allocated
the B & A nines to be played in that order. We had 9 four-balls so it was
important to get things moving and our first group got away 5 minutes ahead
of schedule at 9.55 am in hot & humid conditions with very little sun and a
gentle breeze.
The golf course was in great conditions with the lush fairways and receptive
greens although they did seem to be a touch slower than normal. The weather
was holding up but half way through the second nine we had a 10 minute
shower of rain but it soon cleared and there was no interruption to play. We
did spend a bit of time looking for lost balls which slowed us down a bit
and the round was completed in four hours & thirty five minutes.
The winning pair was Paul “Hacky” Hack & Ken Hole who managed to amass 84
points and in second place came Mashi Kaneta & Andrew “Turtle” Allen with 81
points. Joe Mooneyham & Sandy “Cindy Lauper” Leiper finished in third spot
with 77 points and Rocky Lawson & Dave “Fletch” Fletcher were fourth scoring
74 points. With 2 teams on 67 points a count back was required which
resulted in fifth place going to Landis Brooks & Niall Stuart (38 point back
nine) with “Big” Bill Steinman & Fred Dineley (28 point back nine) just
missing out.
The best individual score was Mashi Kaneta with a magnificent 46 points. I
must also congratulate consistent NAGA winner Niall Stuart for his best ever
score of 30 points and first ever spot on the podium.
Best Individual Score
1st Mashi Kaneta (14) 46pts
1st Paul Hack (15) & Ken Hole (20) 84pts
2nd Mashi Kaneta (14) & Andrew Allen (32) 81pts
3rd Joe Mooneyham (16) & Sandy Leiper (34) 77pts
4th Rocky Lawson (17) & Dave Fletcher (34) 74pts
5th Landis Brooks (6) & Niall Stuart (36) 67pts
Near Pins: A3 – Peter Bye, A5 – Tom Cotton, B3 – Landis Brooks, B8 – Landis
Brooks
Long Putts: A9 – Andrew Allen, B9 – Patrice Bardy
Long Drives: Paul Kennedy, Rob Cross
It was then back to The Growling Swan for presentations, celebrations and a
delicious roast pig dinner provided by Growling Swan Golf. I thanked
everyone for participating in the day and for their valued support during
the year. Also a special thanks to Mine Host Peter Grey for his help and
support since we started and we all agreed that our Golf Society is going
from strength to strength.
Note: Growling Swan Golf welcomes golfers of any persuasion – low &
high handicappers alike, female golfers and beginners. We generally play
Mondays & Thursdays, meeting at The Growling Swan in Soi Chaiyapoon at 8.00
am with transport departing at 8.30 am. For bookings or more information
please contact Peter on 0806 351 386 or email to
[email protected].
We also play bowls every Wednesday and Sunday. Sunday is Lawn Bowls and
Wednesday is Indoor Bowls. All are welcome and for anyone that is interested
the transport leaves The Growling Swan at 10.00am on each of those mornings.

Winfield strolls to victory
PSC golf from Café Kronborg
Daryl Evans and Mike Winfield.
Monday, June 9, Bangpakong –
Stableford
1st Daryl Evans (21) 36pts
2nd Andre van Dyk (15) 32pts
3rd Graham Buckingham (22) 31pts
Bangpakong was the game today, up route 7 for 65 minutes, a swift
check-in and off the first tee 15 minutes early into a very stiff
southerly breeze and under sunny conditions for the whole round.
The course on the day was fine until you got to the greens where
they are under severe renovation and 2 temps on 4 and 14. I would
guess that it will be September before they are really playable
again.
The first group was a 3-ball and made it around in 3 hours and 15
minutes. Back in the clubhouse a welcome back went to Graham
Buckingham.
Daryl Evans was the winner with 36 points ahead of Andre van Dyk in
second and Graham Buckingham third.
Thursday, June 12, Pattaya C.C. - Stableford
1st Mike Winfield (22) 36pts
2nd Marie Rowles (18) 28pts
3rd Dave Richardson (24) 26pts
4th Tony Lecce (14) 25pts
Pattaya Country Club was the challenge on Thursday and the club here
now has vouchers for the low season, offering 10 for THB 5,000, so
we got some and went off the first tee 40 minutes early with a nice
breeze and cooler conditions than in recent weeks.
The course condition was ok for the price we paid; there are 2
different sets of greens and it all seemed a little scruffy, the
reason probably being that we saw less than a dozen greens staff to
maintain the whole complex.
The round took just 4 hours and back in the clubhouse a welcome went
out to Kevin Tikla from Perth and a goodbye to Tony Lecce.
Mike Winfield was the winner by a country mile with a fine 36
points, ahead of Marie Rowles in second some 8 points behind, and
Dave Richardson and Tony Lecce took third and fourth respectively.

1st JP Maffray (11) net 70
2nd Dave Stockman (6) net 73
3rd Eddie Beilby (14) net 74
B Flight
1st John Heaney (20) net 71
2nd Don Lehmer (20) net 72
3rd Terry Mangan (15) net 73
Near Pins (in two): No 3 Freddy Starbeck, No 6 Aiden Murray, No 13
Bob Watson, No 17 Dave Stockman.
JP Maffray left the field one stroke behind with a net 70 in winning
the monthly medal for June. In so doing, JP became eligible for the
gold medal competition to be held later in the year. JP received the
lead crystal engraved whiskey glass, a bottle of Jameson’s whiskey
and the honour of having his name etched on the Lewiinski’s wall of
shame.
JP was followed in A Flight by golfing luminary Dave Stockton (net
73) and a log jam of four players on net 74 consisting of Aussie
star Paul Bray, Eddy ‘the Eagle’, Ed ‘our man in the White House’
Wyckoff and monsieur Thierry Petrement. Eddy ‘the Eagle’ came out of
the count back to lift the bronze.
In B Flight, Don ‘the ladies man’ Lehmer with his net 72 found
himself sandwiched between two ‘Micks’ - John Heaney net 71and Terry
‘pork chop’ Mangan net 73.
The Donkey meanwhile was woken up and presented with the golfer of
the month award.
Lewiinski’s tried something different this week with nearest the pin
in two, and it must be said it went down like a bag of wet sand.
Thanks Freddy.
Ed Wyckoff, Barry Copestake, Ludovic Henninot, Jim Bell and Bob
Lindborg shared the 2’s pot.
Tuesday, June 10, Laem Chabang A & B - Stableford
A Flight
1st Les Cobban (9) 41pts
2nd Paul Bray (7) 39pts
3rd Lawrie McBride (14) 37pts
B Flight
1st Pierre Bietry (16) 35pts
2nd Terry Mangan (15) 35pts
3rd Mick Coghlan (22) 33pts
A fair sized, yet passionate, group took on Jack Nicklaus’
masterpiece and were presented with what some would say is the
easiest permeations of A (Mountain) and B (Lake), not that some
would agree either.
Paul ‘the thunder from down under’ Bray had to be happy with his 39
points, that is until the rest of A Flight came in and reveled that
Les ‘the Irish rover’ Cobban had turned in a sparkling 41 points.
Hard working Irishman Lawrie McBride rounded out A Flight with a
rock solid 37 points.
Pierre ‘the Magician’ Bietry led Co. Wicklow’s Terry ‘pork chop’
Mangan to a count back as he took the top rung in B Flight with 35
points. Mick Coghlan did the same to Christy ‘good’ Knight as his
back nine was more favourably distributed.
Bob Watson, Eddy Beilby, Ludovic Henninot and Murray Aiden plus none
members Jack Siemming and Mav Lawless shared the 2’s pot.
Wednesday, June 11, Treasure Hill - Stableford
A Flight
1st Paul Bray (7) 38pts
2nd Freddy Starbeck (12) 37pts
3rd Rod Brown (15) 32pts
B Flight
1st Don Lehmer (20) 35pts
2nd Colm O’Donovan (19) 34pts
3rd Mike Jefferys (18) 34pts
The always difficult Yashikazu Kato designed Treasure Hill again
proved to be hard to score on during Wednesday’s round as only two
players managed to better par, and both belonged in A Flight. Paul
‘the thunder from down under’ Bray bettered his Tuesday second place
finish with a man of the match 38 points. Paul was one stroke clear
of Freddy ‘the quite one’ Starbeck.
B Flight top spot was secured by Don ‘the ladies man’ Lehmer with a
steady 35 points while second spot was closely contested by Colm
O’Donaovan and Mike ‘the welsh wizard’ Jefferys, both a shot back,
and the count back left Mike with no step on the podium.
Laurie McBride, Don Lehmer and Colm O’Donovan shared the 2’s pot.
Friday, June 13, Pattavia Century - Stableford
A Flight
1st Paul Bray (7) 37pts
2nd Colin Davis (15) 34pts
B Flight
1st Martin Allard (23) 30pts
2nd Christy Knight (22) 28pts
If wasn’t the week of the monthly medal surely Paul ‘the thunder
from down under Bray had the title slot. Paul was the only player to
better par on the day and took his second win of the week to go with
his second place on Tuesday. Paul’s 37 points was three clear in A
Flight of Colin ‘the Donkey’ Davis.
B Flight was a bit under the weather as Martin Allard took the top
spot of the podium with 30 points. Ireland’s best dressed golfer
Christy ‘good’ Knight was happy to see any part of the podium with
his 28 points, and even more happier when he realized he had the
only 2 of the day.
Note: Lewiinski’s is situated on Pattaya land Soi 1, Beach Rd
Soi13/13 near Walking Street. Anyone wishing to play with us just
