Siam@Siam Design Hotels & Resorts announces
new executive director and group general manager
William Pang.
Siam@Siam Design Hotels & Resorts Group is very pleased
to announce the recent appointment of William Pang, as executive director
and group general manager effective immediately.
As executive director, William is responsible for the group’s progressive
developments and operations strategies, including the refreshing of the
Siam@Siam flagship hotel’s vision, products, and services, the
implementation of innovative management policies with creative guest service
standards to initiate and drive new business towards the growth and
expansion of the company.
As group general manager, William will also oversee the successful
operations of the Siam@Siam Design Hotel & Spa Bangkok, together with the
new wholly owned Siam@Siam Design Hotel Pattaya, as well as the Mode Sathorn
Fashion Hotel Bangkok, managed by Siam@Siam.
William’s remarkable career within the hospitality industry spans over 15
years where he has held several senior corporate and management positions in
Asia. In 1998, he first joined Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square as the hotel’s
entertainment & creative manager and was largely responsible for the
successful launch of the first “Fun Pub” concept in Bangkok called
“Vibrations”. In 2002, he joined the pre-opening teams of Accor’s Sofitel
Silom Bangkok and the new Sofitel Boao Hotel and Convention Centre in
Hainan, China, as director of communication. In 2003, he returned to
Thailand where he was subsequently promoted to the position of executive
assistant manager at the Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok and later at the
Novotel Vientiane, Laos in 2004.
Following the tragic Asian tsunami which hit the west coast of Southern
Thailand, William was assigned as Accor’s special projects manager for
tsunami victim assistance, based at the Accor Corporate Office in Bangkok in
2005. In 2006, William was promoted to Accor Asia’s operations coordinator
assisting with all hotel operations and policy matters for the group. In
2010, William was appointed regional manager for Crisis and Risk Management,
security, safety and operations support for the South East Asia Region for
the Accor Group.
With his extensive and useful professional hotel experience with Accor,
William stepped out boldly to take up his new challenge now as the executive
director and group general manager of the artistic and unique design
Siam@Siam hotels group in April 2014.
