Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palarae (left), Secretary of the
Central Islamic Council of Thailand, and Dutduan Sasanawin (right), Deputy
Secretary of Agriculture and the National Bureau of Standards and their
contingent paid a courtesy visit to the A-One Hotel Pattaya recently.
They were welcome by hotel MD Somkiet Ratanaopath (centre) at the Harbour
restaurant which has full Halal accreditation by the Central Islamic Council
of Thailand.
H.E. Kirsti Westphalen, the Ambassador of the Republic of
Finland to Thailand, together with her spouse, Abdellatif Moufakkir, made a
courtesy visit to Pattaya City Hall recently. They were welcomed by
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome who presented the ambassador with the Key to the
City. In return the Finnish envoy presented the mayor with a recipe book of
Finnish cuisine which is a combination of traditional country fare and haute
cuisine with contemporary continental style cooking.
To commemorate World Milk Day, the Cycling Club of
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, in cooperation with Sunshine Radio, held a
Tawan Yim (Smiling Sun) community service project recently whereby more than
300 cyclists delivered milk to students at the Ban Khao Chee Chan School in
Sattahip District.
A TAT team of tourism experts led by Santi Chudintra
(standing centre left), Executive Director Eastern Region of the Tourism
Authority of Thailand, and Auttaphol Wannakij (standing centre right),
Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya Office, were welcomed
to the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya on their inspection
tour.
Prawes Akanimart (right), president of the Dusit Thani
Pattaya Green Team - Environmental Committee, is seen accepting the plaque
of recognition from H.E. Privy Councilor Mom Rajawongse Thepkamol Devakula for
the hotel’s excellent performance in maintaining its environmental efforts as an
eco-friendly hotel. The Dusit Thani Pattaya has been the recipient of the
Certificate of Five Leaves, the highest recognition that signifies exceptional
environmental initiatives since 2003.

The International Congress and Convention Association
(ICCA) together with support from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition
Bureau (TCEB) organized a 2-day workshop for MICE businesses across Thailand
at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH) July 3 - 4. In
attendance were Juan Jose Garcia (5th left), 1st VP of ICCA, and Noor Ahmad
Hamid (6th left), Asia Pacific Regional Director of ICCA. The Thailand team
included Panga Vathanakul (4th left), Managing Director of the Royal Cliff &
PEACH, Suprabha Moleeratanond (5th right), ICCA honorary member and former
director of TCEB, Supawan Terarat (Vice President of TCEB) and Vichaya
Soonthornsaratoon (2nd row 4th right), Director of MICE TCEB.
The Tara Pattana International School held an end
of the year celebration where students received their graduation
certificates much to the pride and admiration of their parents and teachers.
