Courthouse sponsors ‘Cycling for Harmony’ event Sunday

Judge Apichart Thepnoo, Chief Justice of Pattaya Provincial Court, presides over the organizational meeting for the bike rally.

Surasak Huasoon
Pattaya Provincial Court is hoping to spread harmony through the Pattaya area with a 50-kilometer bike ride Sunday, July 20.
The court’s Mediation Club is joining with Pattaya City Hall, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Pattaya Business & Tourism Association and Pattaya Cycling Club for the event, which also will offer a shorter ride of 15 kilometers for VIPs.
The 50 kilometer route starts at Pattaya Court, makes its way out to Siam Country Club, past Thammasart University, out to Huay Yai, past the Attorney’s Office to Jomtien 2nd Road, and back to Pattaya Court.
The 15 kilometers VIP route also starts at Pattaya Court, but heads out along Jomtien 2nd Road up to Sukhumvit Highway, makes a U-turn and returns to Pattaya Court via the same route, although with a stop at Soi Jomtien Palm Beach to play 2 games on the beach.
Representatives from all five organizations met July 2 to plan details of the July 20 ride, which is meant to promote mediation as a way to promote a harmonious society. The ride also will highlight Pattaya as an eco-tourism destination.
Pattaya Police and the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan will provide security and first-aid services, city hall will provide staff to run the event and the cycling club is handling registrations.
For more information, see ThaiMTB.com or call 081-996-7979. Registration fees, 300 baht for the Open category 50K and 1000 baht for the VIP 15k, can be paid to Kasikorn Bank account 870-2-23000-5.
