Hilton Pattaya, led by General Manager Rudolf Troestler,
recently organized the hotel’s first ‘Culinary Cup 2014’ to
encourage and challenge the hotel’s young chefs to showcase
their talents. This event, held August 26 - 27 at Hilton
Pattaya, was successful and fulfilled with creativity and fun
among the team members.
This competition is an opportunity for young chefs to develop
confidence, prove their ability and flair and to create their
dishes with passion. Almost 30 candidates were required to
prepare a 30-minute live cooking show of one dish which should
match the food concept of hotel’s outlets; e.g., Asian, Western
or Pastry. The judging criteria included culinary skills and
cooking techniques, innovation and creativity, dish
presentation, hygiene and safe working practices as well as time
management. The winning candidate was Kanchain Kuhamanee with
his ‘Black & White’ menu (roasted snow fish lemon grass essence,
spaghetti black ink with chorizo). Kanchain will be representing
Hilton Pattaya at the country level round to compete with other
Hilton hotels in Thailand.
Hilton Pattaya is participating in the 2014/2015 F&B Masters

talents within diverse region. Individuals from Hilton Worldwide
hotels throughout South East Asia will have the opportunity to
compete against each other across different disciplines e.g. the
