Pattaya Professional Women’s Forum

You’d be correct in thinking that the Pattaya Professional Women’s Forum is yet another club for women, but you’d be wrong if you thought that’s all it is. This club has been set up for working women (no, not that kind of working woman). The Pattaya Professional Women’s Forum was set up in March 1995 to provide a network for working ladies who go to work every morning and come back in the evening, and who are unable to attend various other clubs which meet and run their activities during the day.
Meetings are held monthly in different locations, normally on an evening during the week. The usual format is dinner followed by a guest speaker on a topic of local or general interest.
November’s monthly meeting was held at the Health & Beauty Center on Naklua Road. After a very delicious, very healthy, but still very tasty vegetarian dinner, the owner of H&B Center, Khun Noi, together with Mr. Carlofilippo, explained the ways of Yoga and Meditation. All the ladies were fascinated to watch those two people perform and many of them did not hesitate to ask a lot of questions, which were answered in a professional manor but still simple enough for those who had never experienced such a session.
Mrs. Eleanor Brennan, President of Pattaya Professional Women’s Forum, said that besides regular monthly meetings, the group also arranges outings and social events throughout the year. One of those social events to come will be on December 6, 1996. This will be more less a Festive Party and will be open to family members and friends alike.
Mrs. Brennan also said that the PPWF welcomes Thai ladies as well as “Farangs”, and she added, with a charming twinkle in her eyes, that since there aren’t very many working Farang ladies yet in Pattaya, the club is welcoming all ladies, working or not. This is being done not only to increase membership but to give the club a wider horizon.
Eleanor said: “Many of the girls were working before they got married, therefor they can still give us interesting advise and make club discussions even more interesting. If some are not too busy with work, don’t worry, we can make them work to make our club a big success!”
Ladies interested in joining this club can contact President Eleanor Brennan, Tel. 250 129, or Club Treasurer Dana Kerrigan, Tel. 602 937.

A better way of life through ancient philosophy

This is the guiding principle of a rather small and relatively new Yoga school at the H&B Center in Pattaya. Located at 157/147 Moo 5, Naklua Road, next to German Thai Group, this place promises that through Yoga one can learn the secret of peace of mind and everlasting beauty.
Though Yogis with their seemingly absurd postures remind us of torture, Yoga has won an acceptable place in today’s contemporary life. Many people throughout the world are aware that Yoga helps the reflex of the organs of the body, from liver to blood vessels, and the relationship between the brain and the soul to create an internal and external chain that always keeps the body young. Without having to rely on plastic surgery, Yoga returns nature to body which has succumbed to constant inertia.
Because of the great variety of Yoga postures, 50,000 in all, it is natural that some are more vigorous than others, thus the need for a specialist is required. Khun Ganniga Jitsatdha, nick-named “Noi”, is such a specialist. Though originally a doctor for natural healing, she switched her profession 9 years ago to become one of the most popular Yoga teachers in Bangkok. Many movie stars are counted amongst her students. About 6 months ago, Khun Noi decided to move to Pattaya, for it is a better and healthier climate here than in Bangkok. Since then she has been teaching Yoga classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. To be able to concentrate on each of her students she won’t take more than 6 people in one class.
One of her teachers, though a Farang, Mr. Carlofilippo Ciambrelli, who only teaches on special requests, is more into Tantra Yoga. This is an esoteric Yoga and was kept as a secret for centuries until finally the 10 Grand Masters decided to publish it to help the people. Carlo also practices and teaches martial arts, which are related to Tantra and are used to sublimate sexual power, control energy of body and mind, and perfect self defense.
But the H&B (Health & Beauty) Center has much more to offer than only Yoga, including traditional Thai massage (Aryuravadie College), herbal steam baths, Swedish massage and facial massage with natural products. There is also a health food restaurant that serves delicious vegetarian pizza, as well as other health foods. The prices are very reasonable at the restaurant as well as for the beauty treatment and the Yoga lessons.
For those who would like to discover peace of mind and be at peace with your soul and your body can give them a call: Tel.: 370 333-4.
