Tiger’s Fuzzy food
Editor,
I was amazed the other day to hear on TV all the “hot water” golfer Fuzzy
Zeoller got into by saying that because Tiger Woods won the Masters there
would be soul food (fried chicken) served at the banquet following the
tournament. Maybe in the future if Mr. Zeoller wants to talk about Tiger
Woods’ diet he should mention Gai-Yan, Kao Pad, Pad Thai, etc. I am sure the
Thai people living in the USA would not take this as an insult as they love
to talk about food. Having a Thai mom, I will be willing to bet he eats more
Thai food than southern fried chicken.
USA, land of the brave, but not the free.
Sincerely,
Don Morrison

Thank you Pattaya & Thailand
Editor,
Not every town in Thailand is as lucky as Pattaya nowadays.
Since many years, the authorities are building streets and canals with every
possible effort. Now we got a superb 3rd Road joining South Pattaya to North
Pattaya. To make this road safe, traffic lights and all kinds of traffic
signs have been added. It is a great job and in the name of many nameless
users of this new facility, I would like to express my thankfulness to
everyone involved in this great project which will become a reality within a
few months.
Thanks to all authorities who helped to clean up the bad elements in this
town. It might have affected for a few days some tourist busines-ses, but
let’s hope that it has been a sign for the future in order to prevent crimes
and drugs. Pattaya is a good place to live in if all of us take care.

Discovery in Pattaya
We apologise to all viewers of Sophon cable, for the lost
transmissions of the ‘Discovery Channel’ We are at present in contact with
‘Discovery” and we hope this popular station will be back ‘on air’ in the
very near future.
Sophon Cable
Some get it,
some don’t
Dear Sirs,
I fully agree with the letter of ‘Shaky Pete’! Living at the Thai Garden
Resort which is connected to this so called ‘Sophon Cable’, not only there
are lost channels (in this hotel you can get only 5 Thai-channels, 2 video
channels, CNN, Star Plus, Star Sport and some Indian programs) but the
reception of this program is, by all means, incredibly poor. Sometimes one
can see only ‘snow’ and other times there is no sound. The video-channel you
can hardly see because of noise and hear because you get interference with
the walkie-talkies of Pattaya Police!
Why is it that the reception of the same cable operator is clear and with
all 30 channels at, for example, restaurants ‘Deutsches Haus’ and ‘Alt
Heidelberg’ restaurant? Even the German ‘Deutsche Welle TV’ is received
there clearly in audio as well as video! But such fine hotels as Siam
Bayshore, Siam Bayview, Quality Resort, Cosy Beach, Royal Cliff and the one
I live at cannot get this reception?! Is the culprit Sophon Cable or do the
hotels not pay enough fee for this full programs of 30 channels? A cable is
a cable: In it all channels should be available to every house/hotel
connected to it!
Why don’t the GM’s of these hotels do anything about it? Do they really not
notice how many people go to the restaurants where the full programs can be
received, such as live sports, Deutsche Welle or the very interesting
Discovery Channel? Look at the Italian restaurants: They get RAI UNO and the
French Restaurants receive from Sophon Cable French channel(s)! And people
sit there, eat and drink, as in their hotels this service is not available -
except the Novotel and Mercure Hotel where there are French programs, too.
Come on, Sophon Cable, you can do better if you only want to. And in case of
the hoteliers, take a little bit more care of your international guests,
give service, even it may cost a little.
