‘Hmm, this picture is someone’s nostalgic wish.’
‘I’m not sure what you mean.’
‘Look at the drawing. It looks like a classic ‘old-fashioned building.’
‘It is. But it’s not just a dream. That’s Hank’s place.’
‘Who?’
‘You know. Hank. Henry J. Bean. That’s the final drawing for the old
fashioned restaurant he’s opening at the Amari Orchid in Pattaya.’
‘He must be a real dreamer.’
‘He is. He likes comfortable atmosphere. You know, someplace where you don’t
have to dress like a Christmas tree. And he will be serving all kinds of
hamburgers, great Chili and other American food.’
‘When’s it opening?’
‘Well, Hank has been to Pattaya two or three times already to check the
progress. Everything should be done sometime in October.’
‘I can’t wait.’
Boots are made for...
by Ariyada
No! Not only for walking. Those who know about Boots from
England will be very happy to find a new branch on the 2nd floor of the
Royal Garden Shopping Center in Pattaya.
Boots is a retail shop for cosmetics, body-care and hair-care products, baby
food, and kitchen equipment. They not only sell products from other
companies like Estee Lauder or Clinique, just to name a couple, but they
also produce more then 4000 different products, like the number one selling
cosmetic in England called Nr. 7. Right now there are 3000 Boots products
available in Thailand, but within 6 months all the rest should be also on
the market.
Though Boots retail shops have only recently arrived Thailand, the Boots
company has already established a history here. Strepsils and Neurofan,
Boots products, have been produced in Thailand for the last 25 years.
The soft-opening was on July 9, and as Managing Director Martyn Bell said,
the policy of his company is to avoid grand openings. They simply like to
appear on the market.
Boots started operations 120 years ago with its first shop in Nottingham,
which is where all its factories still are. Now, at last, Boots is in
Thailand with four shops in Bangkok and one in Pattaya. According to Martyn
Bell, the company has the intention of becoming a chain here Nationwide,
definitely looking ahead to the long run.
