Pattaya Mail celebrates 6th year in print
Looking forward to #7

by Kittisak Khamthong

Back on July 23rd, 1993, Pattaya’s first English language newspaper came out in print called the "Pattaya Mail, presenting local news to Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard.

Since then, the Pattaya Mail Newspaper has been providing current news and information to local residents and tourists over the last six years and is now going into its seventh year in print.

Because the Pattaya Mail Newspaper has a sincere moral and ethical goal in printing the news as it is, the rest of the media, world-wide, regards it as quality reporting, which gives the Pattaya Mail much pride and the desire to maintain the quality for a long time to come.

The newspaper will persevere to be the public’s window, providing a clear picture of the truth as it happens. Just as a good dog provides safety for its master’s home, the paper will print honest and sincere information for its readers.

Currently the Pattaya Mail has a wide-range of subscribers, both in the Eastern Region and in Bangkok. The paper is even read in foreign lands and in the outer provinces of Thailand by way of the Internet on our web site at www.pattayamail.com. For this reason the Pattaya Mail Newspaper must keep improving in order to keep up with the times.

The most recent major change that took place was the introduction of the Pattaya Mail Channel on Sophon Cable TV (STV). Local news and video is presented in English on the cable network, viewed by an estimated 60% of the people in Pattaya.

The newspaper’s sixth year is considered to be the year of change, the year of growth, growth by progression while still maintaining the newspaper’s ethical principle.

While the newspaper was still in its growth there was not anyone aware of the obstacles, problems, and the amount of effort put into producing the paper. Only the Pattaya Mail Newspaper people themselves knew the amount of sweat, blood and tears that was put into the paper, because the paper went through many difficulties before becoming the paper that it is today.

Even though the road ahead cannot be predicted, the paper will continue doing its work to the best of its ability so the public can believe in the paper’s content. The Pattaya Mail Newspaper does not want anything in exchange or any reward, but only desires faith and understanding from the heart.
