Happy
New Year 2000 As the sun sets quietly on the 1900s, we can look back on the past century as being the most dynamic in mankind’s history. Things that didn’t even exist in 1900, we cannot live without in 2000. There are some who say that the world will come to and end with the dawning of the new millennium - this could not be further from the truth. The world is not in danger. Earth will continue to exist long after mankind has stopped enjoying and destroying it. If we wish to continue to enjoy “our world”, then we must look back at our history and take the lessons we learned forward with us into the 2000s, filled with hope and benevolence. Happy New Year from the staff of Pattaya Mail. (Photo by Niyom Apiratanapan, submitted for the 1998 Pattaya Mail photo contest) |
