The Pattaya Bazaar is an interesting collection of shops
by the Dolphin Roundabout at the end of North Road. I decided to have a look
and see what there was on offer, and I was immediately drawn to a shop of
artifacts (as always). Asia French Emporium Art Gallery Co. Ltd. has
reproduction antiques from all over the world, some as old as an Angkor Wat
Bronze from the 8-9th century. The manager, Prisana told me that it is
identical to the original that sold for 45,000 U.S. dollars, the copy you
can purchase for only 3,500 baht. The stone statues are all in real
sandstone from their factory in Cambodia and the quality is excellent. Tel:

Everything
baby could wish for in the Brown Farm Baby Shop
Prisana told me that in the near future the shop would be
specializing in reproduction antique jewelry that will be made in their
factory in Lamphoon, Chang Mai. Their craftsman have the skill and the GIA
license to be able to copy any antique jewelry, so if you fancy a
‘piece’ worn by Cleopatra or any other period, just take a picture or
your own ideas into the shop.
Also in the bazaar, there is the Brown Farm Baby Shop
that has everything a baby could wish for, including cots, furniture, toys,
car seats, even real Legos. Many of the items are imported from Europe.
J & P Jasco Foodservice Co., Ltd is a cook’s
delight, and has all utensils from cake dishes and pepper mills to crinkle
cut chip cutters and Xmas trees. They supply many pubs, restaurants and
hotels in town but are happy for anyone to drop in. Tel: (038) 414209

Cotton and Craft is having a closing down sale so it is
well worth a look. They have traditional clothes and crafts from the North
East of Thailand including wall hangings, chair covers and wooden crafts.
There was a VCD rental shop with a good selection of
CD’s to choose from, a beauty salon, travel agency, a shop selling huge
stone plaques, internet cafe, computer shop, restaurant and a fancy shoe
shop with shoes I could never hope to walk in, as well as cane furniture and
other craft shops.
The Bazaar is open from about 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every
day.
