On the night of Thursday 23rd May to Friday 24th May,
the students of Key Stage 3 of St. Andrews International School slept at
the boarding house. This was a reward for excellent work and good
behaviour throughout the year. It all started when the teachers of Key
Stage 3 decided to create a reward system for the students. It was decided
that they would be known as ‘Tokens’, and that if the class total was
over 500 Tokens, the students would get a day out.

On Thursday, the students finished their school day and
waited to go to the boarding house. They first went to the swimming pool
to have a swim around and play a match of water polo. The score was a
close 5-4, with the winning goal scored in the last few minutes.
Walking back to the boarding house in the sun was
tough, but it was worth it, because of all the fun they had next.
Once they arrived at the boarding house, dinner was
served and all the students (and teachers) ate hungrily. Then came all the
fun!

The students went up to their rooms to play games.
There was a large choice of activities: cards, chess, watching TV, having
a snack, and someone brought Twister, which was the chosen activity. Then,
the students celebrated their classmate Jenna’s fourteenth birthday. It
took a while to blow out the candles, but the cake was tasty!

Then it was movie time. ‘Bring It On’ was chosen as
the movie, and the students watched it with popcorn in their hands, often
bursting out laughing. The movie ended at approximately 9 o’clock,
giving the students one hour of free time to play Twister and to keep
going with the activities they were doing. At 10 ‘o’clock, everyone
had to be in bed, but it didn’t mean that they couldn’t chat, which
obviously everyone did.

The boarding house trip makes many of the students look
forward to the trip to Chiang Mai, which will be based on education, and
of course some fun!
