Shameful t-shirt sales

Editor;

This past week after one year we once again saw the pictures mostly on CNN of people crying again in America. The wounds are still open and the world will never forget these attacks.

Once again, the people gathered together to remember the most important memory ever that was on Ground Zero.

President Bush stayed with his people out in the open in Manhattan, speaking to and kissing the families and children.

Some people lost more than one member of their family; you could even see some people take sand from the ground because their family was never found.

American people are a close family that we have seen on CNN singing, crying and speaking together.

Many people will never return to their lives as before, and for what, they were only Americans working for their families.

President Bush said the 3000 people are heroes of 11 September, of course, but you never can close the wounds of these people.

Everywhere in the world people remembered this day, as you did on the front page of your newspaper. The same day I was walking in the streets of Pattaya, and in different places I saw shops where people were selling Osama Bin Laden T-shirts. How is this possible?

One time a year 10,000 Navy boys (come to Pattaya) for Cobra Gold, walk on the streets of Pattaya and saw these shirts. Some boys asked me how is this possible, my answer is: I don’t know, maybe the government can give an answer.

There is no place, city, village or country in the world where you can buy these shirts. It is a shame for Pattaya.

Water supply shortage

Editor;

With all the new building going on in Pattaya I have been wondering about continued water supply for the Pattaya area. Recent trips out and around have shown me very low water reservoirs for this time of year as the enc. pic shows. We are in the middle of the (dry this year) rainy season but if we do not get heavy rains soon we are looking at water shortage in the coming high season. Already I hear that certain predominately Thai areas of town are cut off regularly.

Crime against humanity

Editor;

The story about Ms Namphon is devastatingly sad. If the details as you have reported them are true then why did she not receive medical and personal assistance earlier and why was she refused treatment by the hospital? If as you report it was due to inability to pay, then this ranks as a crime against humanity.

I hope that you will continue to pursue and update this story that that poor woman’s soul might see that some justice is done and that no other woman in future has to suffer as she did.

I just got back to Pattaya recently and it sure was a nice surprise to see all the new channels (Star World, Star Movies, ESPN, Cinemax and AXN) that Sophon has added for the same 250 baht price. Thank you Sophon Cable.
