Open Evening at St Andrews
St. Andrews International School Rayong held their first
‘Open Evening’ of the year. Parents were invited into school to meet
with their children’s teacher and view work on display.
David Lowder, the new Head of School spoke to the
assembled parents at the beginning of the night and outlined plans for the
new academic year including sending a sports team to Penang, Malaysia, June
2003 for the FOBISSEA (Federation of British Schools South East Asia).
The evening was a big success with a good parent “turn out” and the
school’s parents provided a fantastic buffet.
Fair Property donates necessities to Pattaya Orphanage
Sister Supatra Nonttasuwan, principal of the Pattaya
Orphanage recently welcomed a benevolent group from Fair Property Co., Ltd.,
who took time off from their busy schedule of selling and renting
condominiums and houses to make their monthly visit to the orphanage.
Fair
Property Co., Ltd., donated 150 5-kilo sacks of rice, 8 dozen boxes of soft
drinks, and a cash donation to help the Pattaya Orphanage with its day-today
expenses.
My how time flies, as this is already the third time the
representatives of the company have brought along and donated
“necessity” goods to the orphanage, including 150 5-kilo sacks of rice,
8 dozen boxes of soft drinks, and a cash donation to help the orphanage with
its day-today expenses.
The kind-hearted group said that their company wants to return something
back to the community, and help nourish the lives of children in their
community, especially those less fortunate. They said they don’t want
these kids to feel neglected by society, and that the children should be
given as many opportunities to succeed in life as others.
I bet you all know what a square, a circle and a
rectangle are. They are all regular polygons. But do you know what a
polyhedron is? Well it is any three dimensional shape that has four or more
faces. Here are the names of some polyhedrons. You might know some of them
already:
4 faces tetrahedron
6 faces hexahedron
8 faces octahedron
12 faces dodecahedron
Do you know what a 20 sides three-dimensional shape is
called? Send your letters to Marvin. You can send your letters to: Marg and

ISE Hosts School Exchange
Over the weekend of October 11 - 13, International School
Eastern Seaboard (ISE) hosted 42 students and 4 staff members from the
Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC). A combined effort by ISE
staff, parents and students ensured that this visit was an experience that
NISC and ISE students will long remember.
Students
from both schools cheer on each other during the friendly sporting
competitions.
ISE students created a friendly atmosphere for the NISC
students and staff. By Friday night the tone had been set for the rest of
the weekend. The weekend passed in a non-stop whirl of sporting events and
activities. These included games in volleyball, soccer, and basketball; a
skit night, a swimming party, shopping at Royal Garden and a party at Henry
J. Beans in Pattaya.
The
girls from the NISC football team - all smiles as they ready to tackle the
ISE.
Football
fever hit the ISE pitch during the soccer friendly between International
School Eastern Seaboard (ISE) and Northbridge International School Cambodia
(NISC).
It was obvious on Sunday morning, as the NISC students and staff got on
buses for the airport, just how much they had enjoyed themselves. They would
be happy to come back to ISE any time!
