the games at 8.30 a.m. in front of teachers, volunteers and students ready,
willing and able to compete in the numerous sporting events throughout the
day.
Decha Nontacote, president of the sports committee said
the aim of the day’s event was to show that at the vocational college,
besides students learning computers and electronics, that they are also able
to enjoy an active lifestyle and participate in sporting activities.
Wheelchair
basketball players warm up for their big match.
Chai yo,
yo, yo! Cheering their team on to victory.
The
wheelchair dancers put on a magnificent display of grace and skill during
the opening ceremonies.
The students are interested sports, not only as an
exercise but the activity by itself promotes unity. A number of students
have represented the region and the country in sporting events such as the
World FESPIC Games and the Para-Olympics.
The Redemptorist Games, held over two days, June 20-21,
involved students in teams of different colors, yellow, green, red and blue;
each competing for a total of 109 medals in 10 major athletic events such as
weightlifting, swimming, badminton, wheelchair tennis, wheelchair
volleyball, wheelchair basketball, volleyball, football, takraw and petong.
The opening ceremony was filled with magnificent displays of grace and
skill; in particular the wheelchair dancers. Special guest athletes Somchai
Jaemsai and Yuthida Kulachart made their way trough the sea of colors and
athletes to jump-start the 16th Annual Redemptorist Games.

taking 3 points from Cafe Ole.
200
bowlers Mio, Christian and Tue (Peter not shown).
Domicil dropped from a tie for third to fifth place after
losing 3 points to House of the Golden Coin. This was a hard fought game as
Captain Mio led her Golden Coin team with games of 205, 209, 214, for a
league best 628 series and Captain Peter led Domicil with a 211 game and 514
series.
Three Sisters moved up from sixth to fourth after taking
4 points from Shakey Pete’s, knocking them down two places to ninth.
Captain Morn, 525 series and Ooy who tipped over 526 pins led Three Sisters.
Captain La rolled a 510 series for Shakey Pete’s but didn’t get any help
in this match up.

tie for seventh place.
VFW Post 9876 moved up from eighth and is tied with Winchester. They took
3 points from Cafe Kronborg behind Tue’s 202 game, 562 series and
Tukata’s 508-pin count. Christian, bowling as a spare, rolled a fine 218
game and 537 series.

Summer Party
PSC will be holding their annual summer party for members
and guest on 12 July 2003 at the Town Inn Town Hotel. Doors will open
promptly at 7 p.m. (1900 hrs), no early birds. We have no way of knowing how
many members will attend; therefore tickets are required and will be
available at the PSC office. Members’ tickets are free, one guest per
member 600 baht. Issue and sale of tickets will stop at 420 as that is all
the ballroom will hold in comfort. For those of you who may wonder why we
are having our parties at the same place that is one of the reasons,
ballrooms in other moderately priced hotels are not as big. Also, the Town
Inn Town has given us very good food, service & etc.
As in the past besides a lovely international buffet
there will be lots of beer and a variety of spirits, the ever popular
lottery to include that yellow stuff which excites all the ladies (gold) and
other sundries.

Fitness Tips: Surprise result at the Thailand
Triathlon Championships
The 11th of May 2003 at Laem Mae Pim Beach, 20km east of
Rayong, saw a field of endurance athletes from all over Asia converge for a
grueling day of varying distance events: Duathlon - a run cycle run event as
well as increasing distances of Triathlon - swim cycle run events in the
short sprint, sprint and the Olympic categories.
David
Garred crossed the finish line in first position for the 30-39 age group.
In the Olympic distance race of 1500 meters ocean swim,
40 kilometers road bicycle and 10 kilometers of road run, there were 60
racers from all over Thailand and 5 internationals. The ocean swim started
in the warm waters of the gulf of Thailand at 7 a.m., on a 2 lap triangular
course which not only fought 2 different directions of current (rip or rip
tide), the first along the shoreline then changing 180 degrees for the
longer offshore section, also finished into the rising sun and the glare
made it challenging to say the least to see which part of the beach
competitors were to exit the water.
Transition from the swim to the bike was quick for all in
the Laem May Pim Resort car park, then out onto the flat bike course of 2
loops. Here we see the difference in the race from other parts of the world,
as drafting is legal on the bike leg so it can look a little like the Tour
de France with riders in long lines or very tight packs burning up the road.
Legalised drafting allows those of us on mountain bikes to compete with the
average road cyclists on the aerodynamic super go fast carbon road bike.
Back into the same transition area to don the running
shoes then out along the beachfront road run, again 2 laps with a cooling
crosswind, great view of the ocean and crowds cheering the competitors. The
out and back run allowed the competitors themselves to offer words of
encouragement to each other and give a high 5 or 2 as they crossed.
A little over 2 and a half hours later David Garred, sports club manager
of Dusit Resort Sports Club crossed the finish line in first position for
the 30-39 age group. The final competitors were cheered across by everyone
to a welcome reception and lots of water.

3rd Place B Flight, John Hillier, 36 points
Gerry “The Irish Rover” Power continues to show
steady play as he settles into the pace of Pattaya life. It took a
best-on-the-day 40-point, gross 78, effort for Gerry to wrest first place
from a resurgent Klaus Schackt. Klaus, who has been in a bit of a slump as
of late, was pleased that his 39 point, gross 79, round meant he would not
to have to rely on An’s winnings for this week.
Julian Clarke rounded out the A Flight rostrum with a
most credible 38-point, gross 75 effort to edge the hard luck story of the
week, Ian Ashenden. Ian shot a lovely gross 72, but when calculated with his
stingy scratch handicap he found himself with but 36 points.
Karl Holm, who leaves the cozy confines of The Haven for
the traditional Lewiinski’s Sunday tilt did not evidence the manners we
expect from visitors as he walked off with the lion’s share of the loot.
His fellow raider, Bob Lindborg, continued his “win money and preserve the
handicap” approach as his 36 points edged John Hillier on count back for
the silver in B Flight.

3rd Place B Flight, Eddie Blackwell, net 76
John Hillier notched the first of two B Flight first
places on the week with a tidy net 71. By week’s end he would have made it
to the pay window in all three of the events he played. How do you spell
“CUT”?
Pete Murray found himself in the unlikely position of
being in B Flight as the division line plummeted to 11 and below for A and
12 and above for B. Pete shook off the shock and harnessed the ol’
vibrating putter to come in with an even-to-par net 72, good for the second
step on the B podium. Eddie Blackwell was a surprised 3rd Place winner in B
Flight as he saw his less then inspiring gross 88, net 76, hold up.
In the premier division Jim Brackett left the field
behind with his gross 78, net 71 showing. The last two places in A Flight
were decided by a three-way count back with resident pro Ian Ashenden once
again being pushed off the podium.

2nd Place A Flight, Kevin Moraghan, 38 points
This scribe saves the headline for the story of the week.
How can John Hillier be denied the headline? Three starts, three paydays,
two firsts! His best-on-the-day 40 points is yet another reason. Well it
would take something earth shattering to relegate a performance like
John’s to anonymity. And that is exactly what happened. Kevin Moraghan,
who is the first to pay his entry fee, day in and day out, and who gleefully
applauds his fellow competitors as they, not he, are announced at the
nightly presentations, finally broke through for silver in the B Flight.
Will this be the beginning of a spate of second place finishes? Is the brass
ring the next step? See below!
Julian Clarke, no stranger to the acceptance of baht at
the conclusion of a round, was happy to see the field split, corralling the
top two scores on the day into B Flight. That left his third best score on
the day atop A Flight. In the ironic story of the week (well, I suppose
Kevin’s was ironic as well) Ian parlayed his middling (for him) gross 75,
33 points effort into his only prize of the week. Go figure!

2nd Place B Flight, Jack Grindvold, 37 points
There it is, a sign that Armageddon is upon us, Kevin
Moraghan stood atop the B Flight podium looking down on his minions below.
Kevin, who just two days before was hoisted upon the shoulders of his
adoring fellow-competitors, is now, in true Pattaya fashion, being vilified
as a sandbagger. But before you judge Kevin too quickly you should be aware
that Kevin has accepted an employment offer that is to commence about the
1st of July. Therefore, Kevin’s recent emergence can be best understood in
the phenomenon that is an offshoot of the Darwinian Theory of Natural
Selection. It can best be explained if one envisions the Sword of Damnjob (kinda
like the Sword of Damocles) hanging above Kevin’s head and the gods of
golf giving him a brief whiff of success before they send him off to the
wasteland known as adulthood. Ah, it is a cruel game, but we already knew
that.
Wacko Jacko Grindvold took the balance of the B Flight
pocket money. As far as A Flight goes, he’s baaaack. Klaus showed who
wears the pants in the family as he carded his second consecutive 39-point
effort. After a brief hiatus into double figure land Klaus will probably
return to his more accustomed single digit handicap of 9. Julian kept the
cash flow streaming by rounding out the two step A Flight podium with a
third level count back (last three holes) victory over Jeff Buehler.
Kevin Wilson stays the pace at Green Valley
IPGC Pattaya Golf Society at the Bunker
On Monday and Tuesday, 16 - 17th June, a small field of
Bunker Boys went to their favourite course at Green Valley for their monthly
two-day event, this time an individual Stableford competition. They were met
with a course in excellent condition but radically changed. Gone is the
“old” par-five fourth, noted for its frightening second and third shot,
to be replaced by an insignificant and short par-four; gone is one of the
most difficult par fours in the province, the fourteenth with its length and
out-of-bounds on the right, to be replaced by a short and easily reachable
par five, even for the higher handicappers. These two holes have
significantly changed the character of the course and with their old SSS
rating still being used it makes a farce of playing under a Stableford
format.
However, Kevin Wilson was unfazed by it all and held out
over the two days to post a combined score of 73 points with Harry Riley and
John Preddy tying for second place on 63.
Daily winners were: Day One - Kevin Wilson (40) and Day
Two - Len Jones (34). No birdie twos were recorded and the Bunker Super
Sawng award was kept in abeyance for the next time.
Mick Ramshaw suffered the indignity of the Bunker Banana
Booby for his low total but smiled his way through the two days.
It remains to be seen whether the major changes will have
a detrimental effect on the nature of the course or improve it, as was the
case at Plutaluang a year ago. But why fix it if it ain’t broke?
Len Jones, come on down!
The Bunker Boys returned to the beautiful Natural Park
Resort club for their weekly Stableford competition on Thursday, 19th June,
and found the A & B courses perfectly turned out, as usual.
A windy day saw the players struggle to come to terms
with the conditions but in division two Len Jones found the form he has been
seeking for two years and shot a magical 43 points. Confidence was soaring
as his abysmal short game disappeared and his total was only what his
accuracy, course management and guile deserved.
Pushing him close was Mick Spears with an excellent 39
points whilst the man in form at the Bunker at present, Kevin Wilson,
produced another solid round of 37 points to come third.
In division one the scores were surprisingly lower as Roy
Mitchell returned to the game with a steady 32 points, just heading Harry
Riley (31) and PJ Redmond (30).
The only birdie two of the day was recorded by Mick
Spears and he celebrated the Bunker Super Sawng award with a ceremonial
“ringing of the bell” at the Bunker afterwards. Not so the fate of wee
Jon Wood, however, as he left his bag of accessories at the Bunker and had
to hire shoes and socks and invest in a couple of expensive golf shirts at
the club. The Bunker Banana Booby came at no extra cost however!

2nd: Peter Emslie, 39 cb9 19
3rd: Al Rolnik, 38
4th: Phil Groves, 36
5th: Jimmy Little, 35
Whilst it is always a pleasure to play the testing Hill
course it is not usual for the competitors to get the better of it, but this
day proved the exception as B.J. continued his fine run of form to take
another win, although this time it took a blistering back nine to secure it
from Peter Emslie by count back.
“Big Al” was another to better par in third place
with “Sumo” Phil matching par in fourth and Little Jimmee a further shot
back in fifth.
Tony Quaid shot the only two of the day to sweep the
pool.
Prior to the prize giving Richard Livingston, the
resident PGA Professional, welcomed new members Peter Umbach from the USA
and Peter Aitcheson from England. He also welcomed back John Kendall from
Costa Rica and Patrick Scullion from Ireland.

4th: Trevor Schirmer, 2 down cb9 a/s
5th: B.J. Smith, 2 down cb9 1 down
6th: Trevor Edge, 2 down cb9 2down
With the course playing every inch of its length and then
another five hundred yards, Dave Lacey put together a great round going four
up at the turn and whilst fading a little through the back nine still
managed to be the only one under par to take his first win out of The Haven.
Shaky Pete and The Doc battled it out for second with the older one
(according to his passport) just getting the edge over the last nine.
The Sheepshagger and B.J. continued to scrap over the
title of lowest handicapper with Trevor just taking the honours on this
outing, and Trevor Edge another shot behind in the count back.
It was no surprise with the course playing so hard, that
there were no twos achieved on the day and the pot was carried forward to
the next outing.
Back at The Haven Richard welcomed back Brian Kelly from
Alderney in the Channel Islands.

5th: Moe Deverdenne, 72 cb9 30.5
6th: Trevor Edge, 72 cb9 38.5
Mam Trayling made one of her infrequent visits to The
Haven and duly took the day’s spoils with a very steady net 68 from the in
form Karl Holm who is hoping to reduce his handicap during this holiday and
at least succeeded in getting one shot down with a creditable net 69.
Two returnees also showed that they mean business this
trip back with Stefan securing third and Moe slipping into fifth. Dave
Lacey, who managed to break par for the second time running, separated them.
Trevor Edge took the final place having been spurred on by a personal wager
for more than he could either afford or imagine.
The twos pool, including the carry over, was shared
between Jimmy Little and Trevor Edge.
Before the prize giving, Richard welcomed back Mark
Campbell from Trinidad, Mo Bertrand from Jersey, and Stefan Hoge and Moe
Deverdenne, both from Yemen.

The course itself was in pristine condition and some fine
golfers came to the front and produced some fine scores. In the A flight, 0
to 20, the winner was single handicapper John Emerson, who shot a net 66, a
fine result as this in fact means he shot a gross 75. In second place was
Barry Kerr, making it into the A flight, with a net 71 on count back ahead
of in third Rich Montana, back in our midst, also net 71.
In the B flight we had a good close fight with the winner
Jay Perrin having a fine net 66. Second place was decided on a count back,
with Seamus Brennan coming second and Sprightly Frank Sinclair third, both
on net 68.
This is a fine course and well worth the visit and will
be featured as one of our courses most months.
Thursday June 19
Khao Kheow
(Stableford)
This was a pleasant morning organising the competition in
the Kronborg, because it was so easy. Lo and behold on taking down the list
people had signed in, the 4 balls were listed and as time passed all the
people turned up. In fact there was only one change to make as one golfer
turned up in the morning. Well done all and it makes the organiser’s job
easier. Wham, bang and thank you ma’am, and off we went.
Arriving at the course in plenty of time, it was a gentle
jaunt to the start, and the 4 balls flowed onto the course smoothly. I even
teed off in a good mood and had a really enjoyable round in fine company on
a great course.
The course was in fine condition and we managed to move
freely around the course, and in the process played some fine golf with our
group providing first and second in the A flight.
The winner of the A flight, 0 to 17, was Paul Sharples
with 37 points, ahead of a 3 way count back on 35 points. Winning the count
back in second was Derek Brook, with Peter Vanderworp in third and Ebrahim
losing out in fourth.
The winner of the B flight, 18 up, was Dave Richardson
with 36 points ahead of in second Joe Vanderwegan with 34 points and in
third was Barry “The Shirt” Kerr with 30 points.
Not a high scoring day, but as always thoroughly enjoyed
by all.

Century Bang Chang
(Stableford)
Well the jury is in and Century Bang Chang has been voted
as the most popular course by the players. No we haven’t had a vote, but
the players have as usual voted with their feet and the list to play was, as
usual, full.
Bob
(center) with the ‘Sinclair Boys’.
(L to R)
Jeff, Bob and Peter.
Amazing when you realise there isn’t a hot shower in
the place, but then those who take a shower probably could do with a cold
shower, and the ‘Club House’ is on face value in the bottom two in the
area; however, the costs are good and after golf you can sit outside and
experience the wonderful view with a cold beer.
Of course the golf course could have something to do with
it, as it’s pretty good and most challenging, and a pleasure to play. So
it was that our triple champion teed off to go for a ‘four peat’, but it
soon became clear we would have a new ‘king’ on the block and in a tight
competition Jeff Wylie, a single handicapper, came to the fore and won the
day.
Back at Bobby Joe’s as the players trickled in, the
meal of the oxtail went down well, and when our presenter of the day Bob
Benda was in place, Bobby Joe being away on business, the presentations
could take place.

Fast Eddie Kristianson is on a rampage
PSC Three Sisters Golf
Bring out the axe - Fast Eddie Kristianson is on a
rampage. For the second week in a row he has clobbered the field. This week
Eddie came storming in with 45 points, beating his next competitor by four.
Less than a year ago his handicap was up in the 40’s (local hcp) - he is
now down to 35 and heading much lower.
Getting in earlier with 41 points was Big Rod Perrin.
After a few lessons and some persistence, Rod’s game is getting into
place. At first it was thought that he would be the winner for the day but
Fast Eddie arrived with his card and dashed Rod’s hope.
Following close behind the leaders were Ian Edwards with
40 points, and Tim Holt and Dene Mundy with 39 points each. These were
normally winning scores but today it just helped to get their handicaps
lower.
Holding up the bottom this week was Ray Spurling. Ray,
just back from his trip to Australia, did not have a good day, coming in
with 21 points. The long layoff from golf put a little rust on his irons.
Ray should be getting back in shape in a week or two and will soon climb out
of the cellar.
Granville away day
Tuesday
June 17
Pattaya CC
A sad day for the society, Granville went home for a wee
holiday. I thought he was on permanent holiday. He did not manage a win on
his last game, but the bar laid on a curry, whether it was to celebrate him
going I am unsure.
As for the golf, there was another batch of poor scores
turned in. There were good scores in the first nine, but then we hit the
usual Thai 6 ball and everything came to halt. This is a big annoyance in
Thailand, why they do it, and the clubs allow it, is beyond me. There are
enough problems with slow play as it is.
Winner Bill Campbell (18) had 34pts, Rab McDonald (6)
finished second with 33pts. The only other highlight was Matt Anderson’s 2
birdies, one each on the 5th & 12th.
One other point I would like to make is about rules. Some
players seem to think if you get some bad luck it is unfair, but no one said
golf is fair. To take advantage of the rules you first have to read them.
PH3 Run 1006
Well here we are again another mad Monday. Just a short
trip out of town this week to a good a-site. The bus arrives, our fees are
collected in the usual warm and friendly way by our one and only Dr. Pinky.
The circle is called by today’s GM, none other than the long lost SS, a
couple of pairs of new shoes were sniffed out and then drank out of, then we
were sent on our merry way by today’s hares Festering Squid Jazzer and
Flying Beanpole.
Off we went flying down to the road and straight off
paper then on then off until it disappeared altogether, but we did find a
stick with red spray and some paper around it. I asked Flying Frog and
Fossil with the combined run total of nearly 1000 what this meant. They
didn’t know which probably means no one else did either. With that we all
ran our own different directions, some finding ostriches and mad farmers,
some finding packs of dogs including Karamba who I found in a farmers
vegetable patch waving a big stick and shouting obscenities to 7 dogs.
After finding our different routes back to the a-site we
had a short rest before the circle was called. 91 runners and one dog was
the head count. The raffle took place with Energizer Bunny doing a great job
as usual. Time for the hares to hit the ice, hash s@#* or not was the
question. Strangely enough the votes were for an ok run which surprised
Festering Squid Jazzer as much as it did the front runners.
The anniversaries came next, 1/4 Pounder With Cheese
received his 100 run mug, Daft Vader his 50 run mug. Queen Stella and DLID
completed 100 runs today. Then Fowl F rolls into town and received his 300th
run t-shirt. Sir Chicken is swiftly iced on the return of the GM for
forgetting SS 20 hared run anniversary last week. DLID is sat on ice for
trying to sell the old hash beer truck. Returners are requested into the
circle for a beer, then visitors including the Angeles City crew who downed
their down downs, followed shortly by one leaver P Uphill, 1 lying leaver
Fowl F and 1 disappearing leaver Karamba.
Then we had come to that time of the night for the
hare’s song, an operatic attempt which had everyone laughing and singing
along. Now it was time for SS to grab some hashers into the circle for the
hash hymn. Then to end another great hashing day where else then to the
Scandi Bar for more great food, many thanks Peg Leg.

Palmers keep the pressure on league
leaders Pleasure Dome by taking both game and beer from Cheers at the
Pattayaland derby. Palmer’s having their third straight game win. PSI
moved up the league table with a good win over the Rising Sun. At the bottom
end of the league, Smugglers have finally won their first game, their
opponents, the Bunker won the beer. Smugglers have now moved off the bottom
of the league leaving Devonshire to underpin the table. Alex from the
Pleasure Dome scored a 180, with Pud, also from the Pleasure Dome checking
out on 89 to earn top spot in that category so far this season.
The Square ring
Howie Reed
“I am the last great heavyweight,” said Lennox Lewis.
“I don’t see any others accomplishing what I have throughout my entire
career.” Those were his closing words to the BBC shortly before he entered
the ring against Vitali Klitschko last Sunday morn. A poll of some 91,000
viewers of ESPN thought differently (they had him behind both Tyson and
Holyfield).
If one had to describe the heavyweight title fight the
word “ugly” would have to be the in the lead. The fight was stopped
after the 6th round because of a cut on the eyelid of Vitali Klitschko
(32-1). There is no argument that the bout lacked any semblance of boxing
skill. As predicted by Patrick the Frog, Klitschko led from the opening bell
until the stoppage. The Square Ring had it for Klitschko 59-55. “It’s a
good thing they stopped it cause he was deteriorating and I would have
knocked him out in the next rounds,” said Lennox Lewis (41-2-1).
That is pure sophistry. Lennox Lewis looked terrible. He
looked like a fighter with 10 fights struggling to balance his job on the
loading docks and a pro boxing career. He was out of shape and never in the
fight. “I only had one week to train,” said the 256 1/2 pound champ.
That of course is not true. He’d been in training camp for 8 weeks. The
fact is that he was out of shape and not fit to fight. He hadn’t had a
real fight in 371 days, if you call his match against Tyson real.
Interesting that Tyson was jailed on Saturday for punching out a couple of
guys in Brooklyn. There could be a rematch or maybe Lewis will opt for Roy
Jones Jr. Maybe even George Foreman who says he’ll be back at age 55.
“Do you want to fight Lewis?” Foreman was asked. “No way.” Then
he’s the only one not licking his lips for the fraud that would be king.
Do you remember last week? No, too tough a question.
Let’s try this again. Do you remember that I mentioned that there was a
big box fight last Friday in Bangkok? There was and here are the results.
Fahlan Sakkreerin (3-K) stopped Rolando Atande (11-4) in 4. The win vaults
3-K (51-3-2) into fight IBF Jr. Feather champ Victor Burgos later this year.
3-K was suppose to fight Joebar Damosmog last Friday. What happened to
Joebar? Ah the mysteries of the Orient.
What is it that I’ve always said? No, “I’ll have
another beer, with ice, and a little number 25 looks good to me” does not
count. “Thailand’s box fighters do not travel well.” Example? Last
week WBO #2 Wat Vor Wutinun (11-4) went to Hawaii to fight WBO #14
welterweight Teddy Limoz Jr (10-1). He got knocked out colder than an ex
wife’s stare after the words, “She’s my niece. My brother’s daughter
... no really!” Went 2:35 of the second. Twas a left hook, which usually
follows the ex wife’s stare and the word “right”. There was some light
as Thailand’s Detchrit Vor Surapol (10-4, 3 KOs) knocked out Hawaii
“hometown favorite” Jerry Saribay (4-5, 3KOs) in the second round.
“Hometown favorite”? Must be a small town with little hope.
Here’s one of those “How About them apples?” Audley
Harrison, Britain’s heir in waiting to Prince Lennox, is packing up the
old kip nag and going “West Young Man”. After the BBBC hearing into the
ringside brawl after his last fight he’ll be Vegas bound. Harrison was
fined ฃ1,000 and ordered to pay ฃ600 costs while Hide was fined
ฃ500 with ฃ300 costs. The fines are a joke but the real joke is
what started the “rumble” is now academic as it looks like Frank Bruno
will not return to the ring. Serious eye trouble.
“I have thought long and hard about this and have
decided to transfer to the United States for a short while as I still have a
lot to learn and while I believe my last contest against Matthew Ellis was
my best performance so far in my career, I would like to accelerate the
learning curve by working intensively with my trainer Thell Torrence in
America,” Harrison is quoted here as saying. Thell Torrence’s name may
not be familiar to the average fight fan but he, along with a couple of
others, is the premier teacher of the manly art in the USA. I’ll drink to
that.
Paul “Hammer” Leon
(1948-2003)
Sadly, Paul “Hammer” Leon left this world on
Thursday, June 19, 2003 in Bangkok. Hammer had been a regular in Pattaya for
a long, long time, and was perhaps best known for his exploits with the
Pattaya Hash House Harriers - he no doubt bought more new shoes than anyone
in the history of hashing; a record that may never be broken.
R.I.P.
Hammer
(1948-2003)
Hammer ran his first Hash with Pattaya on run #13 (PH3
just recently celebrated their 1000th Hash) and over that time he completed
221 runs with the PH3. He also hared 15 runs.
Hammer will be missed by many.
Services will be held at Wat Chai in South Pattaya.
