Pattaya City plants hundreds of coconut palms to beautify Bali Hai pier area

Bali Hai decked out to welcome World Youth and Student Travel Conference

The Pattaya Engineering Office, headed by Sittiparb Muangkham, Pattaya civil engineering director, recently bought 250 coconut palms from Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens, and planted them at the Bali Hai pier. A number of city workers and officials were present for the planting ceremonies in South Pattaya with the operation drawing great interest from both residents and tourists.

Officials seek ways to ease Second Road traffic congestion

The dangerous conditions that motorists now face when they try to navigate through the snarls that surround the intersections of Pattaya Second Road and the Dolphin roundabout finally prompted traffic police and city officials to seek ways to alleviate the congestion in this area. However, a recent meeting at city hall revealed there are no ‘quick-fixes’.

Casa Pascal Restaurant hosts PILC luncheon

This month’s Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) luncheon was held at Pattaya’s renowned Casa Pascal Restaurant. Owner Pascal and his wife personally saw to it that the ladies who came to receive Pascal’s gracious hospitality and excellent food were lavishly pampered, and the mood of the meeting was fun and friendly.

Bargains galore at the PILC Holiday Bazaar

The Pattaya International Ladies Club plays host to two major fundraising events each year, the first being the annual Holiday Bazaar held at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort. Last Saturday morning the Royal Cliff Grand saw the ballroom and almost the entire second floor transformed from it usually calm and serene atmosphere into a throbbing hive of activity as shoppers from Pattaya, the Eastern Seaboard and as far away as Bangkok converged on the Royal Cliff in search of many bargains at this annual shopping extravaganza.

Two members of the hugely popular Taiwanese boy band F4 recently visited the Royal Cliff Beach Resort on a promotional tour for a new model of Yamaha motorcycles. Due to their busy schedules the two group members arrived separately, with Chu Xiao Tian (4th left), more commonly known as Ken, being welcomed to the resort by the director of sales, Sunisa Yusananda (3rd right) and Resident Manager Choosakdi Srivatjanapong (far left). Standing amongst them as well (from left to right) are Surachet Footrakul, Frungfa Footrakul, Srisakun Footrakul-Kasikam, and Sheranut Yusananda.

Gulf Charters Regatta at Ocean Marina

The variable winds and mild weather last Saturday was perfect for the start of the second round of yacht racing off the shores of Ocean Marina. The Gulf Charters Regatta saw a myriad of vessels take part in what is fast becoming a hot venue on the Eastern Seaboard yacht racing calendar.
