SOS Rice committee members and local charity
organizations recently announced the beginning of the annual project to
collect rice and raise funds for the region’s children.

Sanga Kijsamrej, committee president and member announced
the project will begin December 1 the setting up of donation points around
the city whereby residents are encouraged to donate a bag of rice for the
needy.

announce the upcoming activities.
Now in its seventh year, the project was started by
Belgian national, Didier Frere to help collect rice for the children of
Pattaya orphanage, then under the guidance of Father Ray Brennan.

This year has special meaning for the project because of
Father Ray’s passing and the goal is to raise over 500,000 baht worth of
food and cash for the city’s poor and underprivileged.
Two
sprightly young children from the Pattaya Orphanage. The Orphanage is among
the main beneficiaries of the SOS Rice campaign.
Local businesses urged that the project should be moved
up one month earlier to enable the project to reach its goal.
