Riding on the wave of a successful and healthy business
of offering good food, the PIC group, led by Dr. Sunya Viravaidhya opened
the second outlet of PIC Super Food last Sunday morning. Customers,
colleagues, business people and members of the media and general public
attended the opening ceremonies.
Gen.
Veerachai Iamsa-ard, Gen. Nippon Pharunnit, Dr. Sunya Viravaidya, ACM
Chakkris Vongsamooth and Gen. Apichai Varunprapar jointly perform the ribbon
cutting ceremony, declaring the second branch PIC Super Food officialy open.
Dr Sunya said during his opening speech, “After
successfully operating our first branch on the corner of Second Road Soi 4,
for the past two years, we decided to open a second branch because our
customers had judged that the quality of our food was superb and they
thought a second branch near the Jomtien area, would give an opportunity for
people living there a chance to enjoy our wide range of good and nutritious
food. So here we are, at the second branch of the PIC Super Food. I’m just
obeying the judgement and demand of the public.”

The new restaurant features two levels of dining and
maintains a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for diners to enjoy. PIC

the corner of the entrance to the Pattaya Courts of Justice. The management
invites the public to taste the food and judge the quality for themselves.
‘Your favourable verdict will mean that we will be sentenced to a life
time of serving you with the finest super foods.’ said Dr. Sunya,
good-humouredly.

Damri Muangkaew
Rien Thong-in, known as Santa to his friends, has a dream
to spread the word of charity and peace throughout the world and help those

Thong-in has a dream to spread the word of charity and peace
Together with his friends from Australia, England,
Finland, Germany and Holland they will host a party for the children at
Pattaya School Number 8 on Tuesday, December 23 to raise funds for
scholarship programs and give back to the community.
Rien, a self professed fortune teller, said, “I like
helping people and especially those in need, hence the party to raise money
for scholarships at the school as well as to kick-start the Santa Claus
Thailand project.”
The Santa Claus World Club will also start off, with the
aim of giving the opportunity for the children to learn English and other
languages as well as maintain their Thai values.
Tickets are set at 500 baht per person with all the
proceeds going towards scholarship programs. A live jam session is also on
the cards, to give the party a flamboyant feel and create an atmosphere of
fun and enjoyment.
Skålleagues sail into the sunset on their annual nautical adventure
The active Skål Club of Pattaya and East Thailand set
off into the sunset for the annual December Christmas cruise on the Royal
Cliff Beach Resort’s ‘Island Dream’ catamaran.
Skålleagues
and guests having a whale of a time aboard the Island Dream.
Many of the 40-plus members and guests were a tad late
for boarding the hotel’s longboat to ferry them out to the waiting
catamaran due to fighting their way through Pattaya’s increasing weekend
traffic.
Finally all were aboard, including president elect Bob
Lee (minus one shoe) and a very exhausted president Murray Hertz after
flying in from Las Vegas a few hours before the cruise. As the group settled
in to enjoy the cruise, the vessel headed north winding along the coastline
towards Naklua.
Despite the initial concerns over the weather, the water
was crystal clear and the magnificent sunset, coupled with the cool ocean
breeze, set the perfect atmosphere for a delightful evening with a delicious
buffet dinner and plenty of surprises ahead.
With dinner served, auction time approached. Numerous
items were on offer from members and regular guests, including the
indomitable long-time Pattaya visitor Archie Dunlop who provided some very
special bottles of pure malt and some very old port.
The flamboyant Dr. Iain Corness played his usual role as
auctioneer, ably assisted by “One Shoe Bob” and Joanna Stetten as
spotters, cash collectors and runners.
Over 15 items went to auction, and by all means it was
Norman Denning from Yorkies Pork Platter who was the star, picking up 4
nights with dinners, accommodation and meals on Samui Island in lot number
4, a Security Training voucher from CSP International for 20 staff and a top
of the range Gents Cashmere Tuxedo from Classic Tailor, raising over 60,000
baht for club activities.
Pattaya has won the 2006 World Congress and will host over 1,200 travel
professionals and their families from around the world during the weeklong
congress. Support is needed to help organize and the event and new members
are always welcome as part of the Skๅl club of Pattaya and East
Thailand. Skål has well over 80,000 members worldwide and is dedicated to
the travel and tourism industry.
