The central government’s policy on aiding the
country’s poorer element has reached far and wide but there is a vital
sector of society that appears to have been forgotten in the normal
processes - those who are physically challenged.
Suporntham
Mongkolsawat, principal of the Redemptorist Vocational College for the
Disabled talks about the importance of benefits equally available to those
in need as well as the special needs for the disabled community.
Ensuring that this important part of society is not left
by the wayside, the Banglamung District Office opened their doors, and with
the aid of students from the Redemptorist Vocational College for the
Disabled provided a specific opportunity for the disabled and
underprivileged members of society.
Suporntham Mongkolsawat, principal of the college and
Father Bunjong Chaiyra and other guests provided moral and physical support
for those registering for government aid.
Father
Philip Bunjong Chayra, Redemptorist Center director presents Surapol
Tiensuwan, Banglamung district chief, a token of thanks on behalf of the
center and the community.
Suporntham Mongkolsawat said, “Redemptorist Vocational College already
supports the disabled community but in many cases these people are subject
to higher costs than the average person and sometimes find it more difficult
to find work despite their qualifications, hence the need for them to
register for the government program.”
