Siam Newspaper celebrates 1st anniversary
Thai language bi-monthly salutes local crime reporter

Siam Newspaper marked its first anniversary with a party
on September 3 at the Town in Town Hotel in Pattaya. The newspaper’s
managing editor Surasak Thummanon presided over the occasion, which was
attended by many well-known journalists, businessmen and actor celebrities.
The Siam Newspaper is Pattaya’s leading bi-monthly Thai language
publication.

Surasak, who is one of Thailand’s best known writers,
presented awards to the newspaper’s supporters, including its marketing
agency, members of the business community, advertisers, and the government
advertising agency. On this occasion, a decoration shield and “splendid
journalist” jacket was awarded to Boonlua Chatree, Pattaya Mail’s
chief crime reporter.
Honored guests at the party included Phisal Akarasaenee, a leading actor
and singer, famous singer Krung Sriwilai and Surachat Sombatcharoen, son of
a now deceased but very popular Thai country music singer, as well as an
impressive contingent of media representatives of TV, radio and print
journalists.
Tesco Lotus South Pattaya branch turns 8
Over 200,000 baht donated to Pattaya orphanage

Tesco Lotus in South Pattaya recently celebrated its
8th anniversary. Along with celebrations and special activities arranged
for guests and customers, the store generously donated over 200,000 baht
to the Pattaya Orphanage.

Wutthikiat Taechamangkalapiwat, the Tesco Lotus South
Pattaya branch vice director and store employees were welcomed by Mayor
Niran Wattanasartsathorn, who hosted the celebrations. There was a good
turnout and hearty participation from distinguished guests and customers
who received souvenirs to mark the occasion.
The highlight of the event was the opening of the
store’s charity donation box that has been collecting money all year
from kind hearted patrons. When counted it amounted to a whopping
248,909.50 baht. Tesco Lotus made an additional contribution of 30,000
baht.
The funds were earmarked for the Pattaya Orphanage and
formally handed over to Sister Supattra Nonthasuwan, house lady superior,
and Suwanna Chiownawin, Child Security Department director, both from the
orphanage. It was an impressive presentation and the money was accepted
with much gratitude.
Branch vice director Wutthikiat said in his speech,
“This has been a truly great anniversary for our branch. The
administration and employees want to sincerely thank all of our customers
for their loyal support.”
Of course no birthday is complete without a cake. Wutthikiat and Mayor
Niran presented a masterpiece 2 meters long. The cake was cut, Champaign
was served and everyone relaxed and enjoyed the party.

Philippines TV crew films at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital
Segment of “At Home Ka Dito”
deals with hospital procedures

The Bangkok Pattaya Hospital will be the backdrop for an
upcoming segment of a highly popular TV show in the Philippines. Management,
cast and crew recently set up stage at the hospital to tape an episode of
“At Home Ka Dito”, which deals with hospital procedures.
The
Philippines television production team tapes the “At Home Ka Dito”
program at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
To produce the program, the Dermatology and Beauty Center
of the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital coordinated with the Singapore Tourist
Department and the Tourism Authority of Thailand Central Region 3 to welcome
the Philippines television production team. The hospital was chosen as a
location to tape due to its expertise on new technologies in ‘elective
surgery’.
Neil Maniquiz, marketing executive of the International
Department at the hospital said, “We are happy, and indeed honored to
welcome this team for taping the Filipino TV program and it is a tribute to
our staff of experts in this field.”
The show’s director, Charlene Gonzales is a popular Philippines TV
star. The episode aired on Philippines television on September 19 and 26.
Feeling good with Centara organic treatments

introduced their latest spa treatments featuring, for the first time in
Thailand, complete organic treatments.
The
Centara Spa team is led by Wassana Poktung (red shirt), rooms division
manager and Saithong Chaisri (blue shirt) assistant spa manager.
Saithong Chaisri, assistant spa manager told the Pattaya
Mail, “We have introduced pure organic treatments at the spa using fruits
that are known to be beneficial to the skin, such as papaya, known for its
skin cleaning properties, dragon fruit, which is a great scrub to remove
dead cells, and lavender flowers to relieve tension.”
There are three new treatments using a combination of
ingredients including the flower power massage, dragon fruit scrub and an
organic body wrap.
Siathong said the treatments not only emphasize the
importance of using natural ingredients but also smell good.
