Songkran week is upon us

Pattaya stays wet until Tuesday the 19th

Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn performs traditional pouring of water over the hands of community elders during the Songkran festival. The ceremony, held at the Public Health Service Center on Soi Bua Khao, is where the younger generations wish their elders health, happiness and prosperity over the coming year.

220,000 baht in the wallet

A taxi driver from Bangkok returned a wallet containing more than 200,000 baht that he discovered in his taxi after delivering a tourist from Bangkok International Airport to Pattaya.

Rotary Club of Bangkok South hosts annual Kids Day Out 2005

Every year the very active Rotary Club of Bangkok South brings children from the Pak Kred Center for Disabled Children to the beach. This year, Don Lavoie, Rotary Club of Bangkok South president, in cooperation with the local Rotary Clubs of Jomtien Pattaya and Taksin Pattaya, brought 300 children to play, swim and enjoy time out at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club.

It would have saved money this week, if some of the golfers had booked into the nearest hotel. They say people do things in threes; well the main outlets of PSC seem to have taken this to heart, with Tropical Bert’s playing here Tuesday and Cafe Kronborg playing Thursday.
