Loy Krathong this weekend
Loy Krathong, the most romantic night on the Thai calendar,
this year falls on Saturday, November 24. Festivities will be held throughout
the city at hotels and anywhere there is water, whilst the city organized fun
will take place at Bali Hai pier (see page 5 for details). So, take your
significant other by the hand, buy or build a biodegradable krathong, head to a
body of water and float away your troubles.

Immigration announces new requirements
for retirement visas
The Immigration authorities have issued new requirements for foreigners wishing
to apply for a retirement visa, including the need to have an ATM card and a
Pol Lt. Samruay Saman, deputy inspector at Pattaya Immigration announced the new
rules on November 12.
Applicants using visa application form TM 7 have to enclose their passport, a 4
x 6 cm photograph, 1,900 baht fee, proof of income (certificate of bank deposit
and bank book savings account, or a fixed account for at least the last three
months), and proof of an appropriate amount of money from abroad through the
bank in a certain period of time, such as a certificate of transfer from abroad
or copy of a banking transfer order.

with works by van der Heyden
Gallery Opium, located at Thepprasit Road, opened Pattaya’s new
exhibition season on November 3 when director Alan Kirkland-Roath invited
art lovers to view the works of Belgian born Ingrid van der Heyden, who has
been living in Pattaya for several years now.

cross bay swim every November and this year was the fourth such event.

Regent’s delegates attend Round Square International
Conference in India – part 1
Every year all the Round Square member schools meet at a conference
at one of the member’s school. The purpose of this is for all of us to
discuss and share our ideas on how our school contributes to the Round
Square IDEALS, students and teachers alike. This year the conference was
held in India and for the first time the Regents students also attended a
pre-conference tour for a week.
