The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand
and Ministry of Commerce have introduced a 3 billion baht loan program to
help grow the Thai logistics industry.
Solos Sakhornwisawa, MD of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand.
The program was unveiled by MD Solos Sakhornwisawa Feb.
24 at a presentation at the Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel. About 100 people
attended.
Solos said the Thailand Logistics Loans Project aims to
bolster Thai logistics companies and ensure freight businesses have enough
working capital to not only survive the slow economy, but actually expand.
He said businesses can apply for loans of 50,000 to 5
million baht with loan terms of up to five years. Interest rates in the
first two years will be only 4 percent and jump to 7 percent in the third
year. All loans will require a guarantor.
Borrowers must be active in the logistics, transport or
tourism industries and must have active membership in at least one of twelve
transport associations.
Entrepreneurs can call the 1357 Call Center for more
information.
