Romeo and Julie production rocks St Andrews
Mr Doug Heron,
Drama teacher at St Andrews School
The Drama Department at St Andrews International
Green Valley Secondary School recently staged their unique version of
Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Their version was cunningly entitled
‘Romeo and Julie’ and was definitely an improvement on the original.

The
balcony scene.
In this version Romeo and Julie meet and fall in love
just like the original but there are some comic surprises as well,
including men in tights, servants dancing to Abba songs, a man-eating
well and a friar who thinks he’s James Brown!
Romeo and Julie had something for everybody from
Shakespeare buffs to break dancers - yes, you did read that correctly -
and the audience were entertained and enthralled. Students worked hard
rehearsing their acting and dancing and the show was fantastic
entertainment and a great success.

Capulet telling Julie she must marry Paris.

The
grand finale.
