Rotarians are not only well known for their good acts of
service in their communities by implementing thousands of humanitarian
projects for the benefit of the underprivileged, but also for the warm
fellowship that they enjoy amongst themselves.
It is traditional that Rotary clubs organize what they
call fellowships every so often to invite Rotarians not only from their own
clubs but also friends from the neighboring clubs for an evening of
togetherness to share their ideas and plan for new projects to serve
humankind.
Past District Governor
Thongchai Lortrakanon inducts Sathienpong Khumnon as the newest member of
the Rotary Club of Pattaya.
Activities include honoring worthy Rotarians for their
contributions to the Rotary Foundation whereby those contributions are
reflected directly to the welfare of our societies, induction of new members
into the world’s foremost service organization and arranging birthday
celebrations for members and their loved ones whose birthdays fall during
this period.
The Rotary Club of Pattaya under the leadership of
President Prasit Jariyapongsakul held one such festival of friendship on
Monday August 29, whereby almost 200 Rotarians from in and around Pattaya
attended.
As is tradition at all Rotary functions, there is always
an opportunity to raise funds for the benefit of Rotary’s humanitarian
projects and this occasion was no different. Organized by Past District
Governor Premprecha Dibbayawan, a myriad of prizes were given away to the
lucky winners.
Two new members, namely Kjell Gundersen and Sathienpong
Khumnon, were inducted into the Rotary Club of Pattaya by Past District
Governor Thongchai Lortrakanon, which was a happy moment for the service
organization. In addition, President Niwat Anuchalakom of the Rotary Club of
Plutaluang led his members to make a collective donation to the Rotary
Foundation, which was also a positive sign to say that the future of
underprivileged children is safe and sound.
David and Sumaree were the
lucky winners of the draw and receive their prize from President Prasit
Jariyapongsakul.
