Pierre Andre Pelletier, general manager of the Amari
Watergate Bangkok presents a cheque for 1.4 million baht to HRH
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn recently. The funds were part of the 3.3
million baht raised from the 14th Amari Watergate & BMW Thailand Midnight
Run and the 15th Aerobic Marathon on AIDS to support the Chalerm Prakiat
School in Lumpoon province. Another 1.4 million baht was donated to Baan
Gerda Project in Lopburi and the final 500,000 baht was donated to support
the ‘Baht for a Better Life Project’.

The Amari Orchid Pattaya played host to Hong Kong
movie director Edmond Pang Ho Cheung (2nd left) and Michael Lam Ching Kong
(3rd right) who were at the resort recently. They were welcomed by Latiporn
Tongkhunna (3rd left), executive assistant manager and Pichchaya Nitikarn
(2nd right), public relations manager.

As part of the Hug-a-Tree - Planet 21 initiative, Clinton
Lovell (centre), GM of the Pullman Pattaya Hotel together
with his staff planted numerous trees in the hotel garden and worked
together to clean the beach and roads around the hotel in their efforts to
preserve the environment. Funds were also raised during the campaign which
will be used to plant more than 2,000 trees in Chiang Mai through the Pur
Project.

Chatchawal Supachayanont (centre left), GM of the
Dusit Thani Pattaya and members of the hotel’s Green Team proudly
receive the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard 2012-2014 from Dr Jiraphol
Sinthunava, vice-president of the Green Leaf Foundation. Dusit Thani Pattaya
has maintained its eco-friendly status since it embraced the green
initiatives more than ten years ago. This has resulted in their receiving
many awards from various environmental organizations recognizing the work of
the resort’s Green Team committee under the management and supervision of
Chatchawal Supachayanont.

On his travels down under recently, Dr. Sunya Viravaidya
(left), chairman and CEO of the Pattaya International Hospital met up
with his old mate Professor Graham Brown, who is now director of the Nossal
Institute for Global Health, University of Melbourne. The two doctors were
fellow students in the 1970 class of medicine at the University of
Melbourne.

Former world number one tennis star Martina Navratilova
was a special guest at the Royal Wing Suites & Spa recently. During
her stay she had the opportunity to play at the tennis courts and proclaimed
them to be comparable to the best in the world. Executive Director Vitanart
Vathanakul, an avid tennis fan, was on hand to welcome her and ensure that
her stay was a most enjoyable one.
