Thailand’s auto production in July hit a record high of
212,727 units, an increase of 44.48 percent year-on-year, according to
Surapong Paisitpattanapong, Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Automotive
Industry Club spokesman.
The country’s auto production in the first seven months
totaled 1.2 million units, an increase of 32.63 percent from the previous
year.
Auto sales in July hit a record high of 131, 646 units,
an increase of 80.6 percent year-on-year. Sales in the first seven months
amounted to 738,189 units, an increase of 46.2 percent from the same period
last year.
Exports in July hit a record high of 94,838 units, an
increase of 25 percent year-on-year with export values of Bt46 billion, an
increase of 37 percent year-on-year. Auto exports in the first seven months
of this year were recorded at 551,707 units, up 15.73 percent year-on-year
with an export value of Bt263 billion, up 25.32 percent year-on-year.
Thailand’s auto production this year is expected to
exceed the target of 2.2 million units to 2.3 million units. (MCOT)
