BANGKOK, 28 March 2012 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, has revealed that Ya pak-king, or literally translated Beijing Grass, can help slow the spread of cancer.

The Faculty of Pharmacy and the Chao Phya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital Foundation have together organized a seminar on Ya pak-king, an alternative for cancer patients. The Faculty has tested Ya pak-king and found that the plant contains glycosphingolipids, a substance that helps reduce cancer growth and blood sugar. It also contains antioxidants and stimulates immunity.

Extensive research on its application on many types of cancer patients has proven that Ya pak-king is a better choice for cancer patients than chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The findings show less side-effects and better conditions among patients.

According to the Chao Phya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital Foundation, Ya pak-king is generally known to local people as an herbal medicine helping cure aphthous ulcers, blisters, and Hemorrhoids as well as reduce high blood pressure.
