Pattaya police inconvenienced a few Walking Street transvestites, hauling them into the Soi 9 station to pay 100 baht fines before letting them return to carry on as they were.
Police put on a good display for tourists Feb. 22, rounding up 23 men in dresses after complaints about the transvestites pick-pocketing tourists and soliciting prostitution. More than 100 others in high heels managed to elude capture.
Cross dressing street walkers patiently way for their turn to pay the 100 baht fine, anxious to get back to work.
The raid proved more for show than actual effect, as the suspected petty thieves and prostitutes were given a warning, coughed up just 100 baht each and then were let go, presumably to return to their Walking Street perches.
