Trang – March, 8, 2012 – In anticipation of the formation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015, Trang governor is preparing to propose a budget of Bt 4.2 billion for tourism revival projects; at the upcoming mobile Cabinet meeting.
Senee Chittkasem, Governor of Trang, yesterday said that, prior to the mobile Cabinet meeting in Phuket on March 19, Trang’s administrative body and all relevant agencies have agreed that 10 projects, with an estimated budget of 4,243.8 million baht, would be submitted for budget approval at the meeting. Most of the 10 projects would be tourism-related and would serve the goal of preparing the province for AEC’s participation in 2015.
The projects awaiting approval included the Pak Meng pier development, water resources development ,airport expansion, tourist attraction development, and RCE learning projects, among others.
If the budget request is turned down by the cabinet, the province plans to re-submit the proposal during the next mobile cabinet meeting to be held in Nakhon Si Thammarat, according to the Governor.
