PSC golf from Lewiinski’s Golf Society
Sunday, April 1, Green Valley – Stableford
A Flight
1st Steve Mulberry (9) 40pts
2nd Jan Erikssen (11) 37pts
B Flight
1st Adam Oyston (17) 40pts
2nd Jim Bell (17) 40pts
Near Pins: No 4 Pierre Bietry; No 9 Garry Blackburne; No 12 Steve Mulberry; No 16Adam Oyston
B Flight was top heavy as Adam Oyston locked horns with Jimmy ‘no’ Bell as both topped the flight with solid 40 point returns. Adam emerged the victor in the resulting count back. Jim’s perseverance with his new grip seems to be paying off (thanks Bob).
A Flight had its own 40 pointer as Steve Mulberry took the top podium spot and co man of the match. Steve’ was three clear of Jan ‘the quite one’ Erikssen.
Sunday winner Steve Mullberry.
I have heard from a reliable source that the Principle is on the lookout for a new extra long shafted putter as this is the second week running he has played a fresh air putt. In the meantime, what’s happened to the Co. Offaly mob?
Jim Brackett (a pair) and six other players carded 2’s.
Monday, April 2, Royal Lakeside – Stableford
A Flight
1st Claude Harder (15) 37pts
2nd Matt Doyle (15) 35pts
B Flight
1st Fergus O’Brien (26) 37pts
2nd John Heaney (19) 36pts
It seems that every week he receives a compliment for his ever improving play, and there is no reason that should not continue as Claude Harder topped A Flight and shared the man of the match as he was one of only two players to better par. Matt ‘the big easy’ Doyle finally found his way to the podium with 35 points
Irishman Fergus O’Brien led B Flight and gained a share of man of the match with his 37 points. Fergus was one stroke clear of fellow Irishman John Heaney.
Kevin Mcentee, whose golf swing had been a little impaired (due no doubt to his bulging wallet), slotted home the only 2 of the day
Wednesday, April 4, Mountain Shadow – Stableford
A Flight
1st Ed Wyckoff (10) 37pts
2nd Phil Smedley (13) 37pts
3rd Rod Peach (14) 36pts
4th Stephan Berg (5) 36pts
B Flight
1st Dermot Murphy (18) 40pts
2nd Paul Hack (18) 34pts
3rd Peter Wallace (21) 33pts
4th John Heaney (19) 33pts
For our 6th ever co-sanctioned two day event with The Golf Club it was very pleasing to see an excellent turnout. Leading the first day’s charge was B Flight’s and Ireland’s Dermot Murphy with an excellent 40 points. Dermot’s fine effort was six stokes clear of Paul Hack, plus a further seven over Peter Wallace, John Heaney, Eddy Beilby, Jim Elphick and Jimmy ‘no’ Bell. The luck of the Irish held up as both Peter and John filled the flight in that order.
Ed ‘our man in the White House’ Wyckoff and Phil Smedley were knotted at 37 points; the knot was untied by count back, with Ed having the better of it. The minor flight places were filled by Rod Peach as he edged Stephen Berg with the aid of a further count back.
It will be interesting to see Dermot’s score holds up on Thursday. Please see The Golf Club report located else were in the Pattaya Mail
By the way, Ed’s day was made even more rewardable as he collected a very healthy 2’s pot.
