Teachers, nannies and caretakers were given lessons on how to get young children interested in learning at a “creative learning” seminar attended by care givers from two area temples.
Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon opened the March 22 workshop at Pattaya School No. 4 with Dr. Suthapa Chotipradit, Dean of Academic Management, Major of Pre-school Education, Faculty of Education, Burapha University leading the lectures and activities with care givers from Wat Chaimongkol Children’s Development Center and the Young Children’s Development Center of Darul Ibadah Mosque.
Nannies from the Wat Chaiyamongkol Children Development Center, and the Young Children Development Center of Darul Ibadah Mosque, along with relevant officials attend the “creative learning” seminar.
Training focused on use of different media, technology and tools to excite young kids to learn. By using overhead-projector slides, documents, models, CD players, television and other equipment, young kids can be inspired to learn outside of the normal classroom and books routine, experts from Burapha University told the attendees.
Education is not limited to the classrooms, they stressed. Children can learn from many sources. Teachers and guardians of small children were instructed to think of ways to stimulate children’s interests through the use of appropriate media.
