BANGKOK, 11 April 2012 – The Bangkok Metropolitan Council (BMC) has launched a road safety campaign during Songkran in Chom Thong District.
The event was held on Rama II Road in Chom Thong District to warned motorists to be aware of the safety issues on the road. Under the campaign, officials are assigned to provide services to the people who encounter any problem during their travel.
Pamphlets, free drinking water, energy drinks, and other products to invigorate drivers have been distributed.
Rama II Road is the main route to the South. Many motorists are expected to go through this road during the Songkran holidays.
The BMC and Bang Mod Police Station have already had their personnel and equipment ready for any unexpected incident such as fire, as many people are going on the long holidays leaving the houses unattended, electrical appliances could short-circuit leading to fire easily.
