IPGC golf from The Links

Sunday, May 27, Green Valley – Stableford

Only one fixture this week, with other competitions taking precedence on the midweek dates, saw another good turnout for Green Valley, which remains in excellent condition.  Playing conditions were good, generally overcast but with little breeze, which aided the high standard of scoring with most players shooting within a shot or two of their handicaps.

South African Andreas Coetzee, playing with The Links for the first time, finished third on 35 points.  Regular players Ger Lodge and Frank McGowan could only be split on a card playoff after both returned 36 points; Frank taking first spot with 20 points on the back 9 ahead of Ger with 19.

Ted Lodge. Ted Lodge.

Ted Lodge scooped the ‘2’s pot, holing his 9-iron second shot at the par-4 10th for an eagle.

1st Frank McGowan (16) 36pts

2nd Ger Lodge (18) 36pts

3rd Andreas Coetzee (8) 35pts
