Monday, May 16, Burapha – Stableford

1st KB Lee (10) 39pts

2nd Ivan Plunkett (29) 38pts

3rd Peter Moon (24) 37pts

Back on A & B course today after last month’s coring and the greens will no doubt be rapidly improving over the coming weeks and return to the fast putting speeds that we know here at Burapha.

John Stafford.

Peter Moon is playing better these days and scored a good 37 points to finish in third spot, one behind Ivan Plunkett who was undoubtedly pleased with his score of 38.  KB Lee is getting back into good form and with a great 80 gross and 39 points he took the day’s honours.

John Cunningham recorded the only 2 and scooped the pot.

Tuesday, May 17, Laem Chabang – Stableford

1st Robert Barnes (14) 33pts

2nd Mitch Matthee (12) 33pts

3rd Andy Butterworth (12) 33pts

Our regular Tuesday groups are supporting us well at Laem Chabang and good to have Ron Dickie and Andy Butts’ crew back on a regular basis.  Laem Chabang is beautiful and with a couple of lads taking on the A & C course from the blue tees in exchange for the extra shots on their playing handicap, everyone was able to compete fairly based on their tee preference and in full accordance with the USGA rules.

As it ended up, we had three players all finishing on 33 points, with Andy Butts losing on count back to Mitch Matthee.  Mitch was himself also edged out by Rob Barnes who played the C course really well from the blue tees to get 18 points on the back nine.  Rob also scored the only ‘2’ to sweep the pot.

Friday, May 20, Green Valley – Medal

1st John Stafford (17) net 65

2nd Wayne Cotterell (15) net 68

T3rd Kim Danboise (17) net 70

T3rd Sunanta Duangwaw (21) net 70

Robert Barnes.

With it being a public holiday and with numerous regular players being abroad, our numbers were down for our regular monthly medal at Green Valley.  That didn’t stop numerous players from scoring better than net par rounds, but in the end it was John Stafford’s day.  Not only did he win the lowest gross (from a 17 handicap), but he also recorded the only 2 and he posted the lowest net with 65.  Talk about scooping up!

In second place was Wayne Cotterell who came in with a great net 68, with his wife Sunanta sharing third place with Kim Danboise.
