10 young Thai Optimist national team members will be led by Somkiat Poonpat in the upcoming 2016 Optimist Asian & Oceanian Championship. This event will be held in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka from May 28 – June 5.
A star of the team is Chanokchon Wansuk (Manao) who was a winner of the Hua Hin Regatta 2016 and also the Top of the Gulf Regatta 2016 which concluded earlier this month.

Captain Bongkotch, a representative of the Royal Navy Base in Sattahip and Rear Admiral Suna joined the young sailors at a recent photo session to wish them good luck.
The kids all participated in the Top of The Gulf Regatta 2016 in order to prepare and hone their boat-handling skills for this prestigious international event.
