PSC Golf from Siam Country Resort Pattaya
Tuesday, June 7, The Emerald – Stableford
On Tuesday we went to The Emerald with 3 groups. It was already some time ago that we played here but today we found the course in good condition apart from the greens which were under maintenance and were very bumpy and sandy. The weather was not too bad, it was a little bit cloudy and not so hot.
After 7 holes we got stuck behind a small competition, which slowed us down considerably and maybe it was the loss of concentration caused by this that led to the low scores returned.
The winner on the day was Willem Lasonder (H/cap 18) with 32 stableford points ahead of Jonathan Pratt (8) in second on 31 and Daniel Oshiro (22) third with 30.
The near pins went to Jonathan Pratt (twice), Daniel Oshiro and Willem Lasonder.
Thursday, June 9, Eastern Star – Stableford
We were off to Eastern Star on Thursday and it was a nice sunny day with a good breeze. The course looked very good and the greens were also in top shape.
We played with just two groups and although the playing conditions were good, we again had no good scores. Jonathan Pratt proved his consistency and won with 33 points, closely followed by Stuart Banks (20) with 32.
Near pin prizes were claimed by Jonathan Pratt, Willem Lasonder and Paddy Devereux (twice).
Note: Siam Country Resort Pattaya, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 meters, with the venue on the left another 200 meters along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
