AirAsia X wins Skytrax World’s Best Low-Cost Premium Cabin Award for fourth consecutive year

Farnborough, 12 July 2016 – AirAsia X has won World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Cabin and World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Seat awards for the fourth year in a row at the 2016 Skytrax World Airline Awards held at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Dubbed the “Oscars of the Aviation Industry”, the Skytrax Awards are the global benchmark of airline excellence with over 19 million customer surveys completed worldwide by more than 104 nationalities, measuring standards across 41 key performance indicators of an airline’s frontline products and services.

The AirAsia X Premium Flatbeds feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen. Guests travelling on Premium Flatbeds can also enjoy premium complimentary products and services including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage, 40kg baggage allowance, complimentary meals as well as pillow and duvet.

AirAsia X was the first low-cost carrier in the world to introduce flatbed seats, which have standard business class specifications of 20″ width, 60″ pitch and stretch out to 77″ in full recline position.

AirAsia X operates one of the youngest fleets of Airbus A330 aircraft in the world, with an average age of 4.5 years across all affiliates, with firm orders for over 60 Airbus A330neo and 10 Airbus A350XWB deliveries.
