Another attempt at providing a public-transport alternative to Pattaya’s much-maligned baht buses got underway last week with scheduled bus service between the Pattaya Floating Market and the city’s beachfront.
Operated by Pattaya Beach Bus Co., the service is intended to provide more options to easily get around the city and its regional attractions. The air-conditioned coaches cost 20 baht for adults and 10 baht for children.
The new bus route originates in front of Furama Hotel on Soi 14 in Jomtien Beach and travels every two hours between 11 a.m. and 9:10 p.m. along Thappraya Road, Second Road to the Dolphin Roundabout, up to the city bus terminal then to city hall, Beach Road, Walking Street and back to Thappraya Road where it travels to the Floating Market.
The last service leaves the market at 10:10 p.m. on weekends.
Organizers said they’ve installed more than 50 bus stops along the expansive route, all marked by an easy-to-spot red box. For more information visit Pattaya FloatingMarket. com or call 038-706-340.
