A gang of Kuwait motorcyclists was arrested for disturbing the peace with illegal nighttime street races.
Pattaya city and tourist police plus 30 volunteers hauled in more than 40 bikers and seized 26 motorbikes July 29 following complaints about the loud races.
All 40 arrested were Kuwaiti nationals, with vehicles ranging from scooters to big bikes. Most had modified engines and loud exhaust systems. Some were new and had not yet been registered while other lacked registration books or license plates.
Police said the seized vehicles can be picked up, but owners must present all proper and legal documents. Other bikes were rented and police threatened those who rented the bikes with legal action.
