Bikinis will move from the sand to the streets of Pattaya as Central Festival Pattaya Beach organizes the first-ever “Bikini Beach Race” Aug. 6.

Pattaya tourism-promotion chief Ornwara Kornpin and mall executives announced the 4-6:30 p.m. event at a July 27 news conference. The race will include a three-kilometer run and nine-kilometer race along the beachfront and on city streets near the mall.

Both courses start in front of the View Talay condominium next to Central Festival, with the short course ending at the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, and runners in the longer race coming back to Soi 13/2, heading back to Second Road to the Dolphin Roundabout and back again to the mall.
One lane of Beach Road and Second Road will be blocked off for the runners.
