Deputy Commander of the Tourist Police Division Pol Col Nithithorn Chintakanon revealed that the incident occurred earlier this week, when the bouncers of a nightclub denied entry for four English tourists as part of the club’s policy of not permitting overly intoxicated people from entering. A verbal quarrel ensued, which escalated to physical violence.

Police then charged two bouncers for assault and ordered the nightclub to pay 10,000 baht damage compensation to each of the victims.

Pol Col Nithithorn said that the Tourist Police will conduct random checks of bars and nightclubs in the area to prevent similar incidents from happening and build confidence among tourists.
