Five people narrowly escaped injury after their car burst into flames on Highway 36 in Pong.

The family of five – including three children – were standing on the side of the road when fire crews arrived at the Chonburi Land Office exit around 1 p.m. Aug. 21. Their Toyota Camry was fully consumed in flames.

Driver Jiyaporn Jantasetarin, 40, told authorities that she was driving her family back to Bangkok from Rayong when another car pulled alongside and its driver, Teerapong Khemton, 35, shouted to them that their car was on fire.

She pulled over and everyone escaped safely.
