PM to attend business road shows in Germany, France

BANGKOK, 16 July 2012 – The Prime Minister will attend business road shows in Germany and France during July 17-21 to boost foreign investors’ confidence. 

According to Industry Minister Pongsawat Sawatdiwat, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will join the Board of Investment (BOI) entourage during the road show in Berlin and Paris to encourage more investments in Thailand from the European investors.

Mr. Pongsawat explained that over the past 10 years, German investors have invested 82 billion baht and French investors have also invested 10 billion baht in Thailand. He added the entourage will promote business opportunities after the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is formed in 2015 to the European leading entrepreneurs.

The minister said although Europe is faced with a huge economic crisis, Germany and France remain European’s economic powerhouses.

Under the plan, Ms. Yingluck will meet German and French business leaders to discuss opportunities with them.
