Members of the golf club presented the donation to Chatmongkol Sriborisut, head of the Learning Center for Rehabilitation and Development of the Disabled, and Social Welfare Fund Director Pattama Chanchiew Aug. 23.

The money will be used to buy powdered milk, diapers and other necessities for the young children.

Pattama said the Learning Center was opened to be a hub for informal education of disabled children and their families, focusing on therapy and developmental training, as well coordination with state agencies.

Officials plan to base the new center at the Nongprue Police Station’s former detention facility and are preparing promotional brochures to distribute in the community.

Other plans call for the center to provide job training and career opportunities for the disabled and establish a Guardians Club in October at the Nongprue Shooting Park.
