Anan Angkanawisan, chairman of the Pattaya City Council, led a team to inspect the progress of removing private buildings encroaching on public land Sept. 1.

Property owners, including the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa, were told to remove posts, building and small facilities into the South Pattaya canal that block the flow of storm runoff and causes heavy flooding all around Pattaya.

He said everyone affected appeared to be cooperating fully. Meanwhile, demolition of earlier offenders is nearly done, with Bali Hai Plaza now 95 percent torn down and other structures up to 85 percent demolished.
