BANGKOK, 21 July 2012  – Thailand’s Public Relations Department is to play host to a Thai-Chinese cultural exchange event this weekend.

The Public Relations Department (PRD)’s Deputy Director-General Ladavan Bua-Aim joined Bureau Chief of the Guangxi Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (GARFT) Peng Gang, in the 3rd Thai-Chinese GARFT Joint Technical Committee meeting, in Bangkok.

The meeting was intended to help promote better understanding in the areas of information technology and broadcasting, and further exchange of information and news between the two countries.

Mrs. Ladavan said that the Bangkok meeting was a crucial stage for both nations to review their past performances to improve future collaborations, especially when Thailand will be a part of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 and China will be a key trading partner with advanced technology that will play an important role in connecting Asia with the world.

On Saturday, July 21, the PRD will also organize a special event, titled “Song of Friendship 2012 Thailand-China”, at the PRD Auditorium. Members of the public are invited to enjoy various musical shows performed by famous singers from both countries from 4 to 6 pm, free of charge.
