Last week was what you might call a bit hot and very humid, but having said that it did not deter our hardier members from turning out to play our monthly medal at Green Valley.

The course was in its usual fine condition with the greens playing very true, which suited Chris Martin down to the ground as his net 69 was good for the top rung of the ladder.  Mind you, he did need the aid of a count back to edge Barry ‘the boot’ Copestake into the silver spot on the podium.  Chris picked up a bottle of Jameson’s Irish whiskey, an invite to play in the gold medal to be played in December, and of course he gets his name etched onto the Lewiinski’s wall of shame.

Aiden Murray rounded out the podium with a steady net 71.

Monday, Sept. 12, Pleasant Valley – Stableford

1st Takeshi Hakozaki (16) 35pts

2nd Bernard Green (29) 33pts

3rd Peter Henshaw (23) 30pts

The Lewiinski’s gang traveled up Highway 7 under dark and threating skies to take on the tough Pleasant Valley golf and Country Club.  The course was in excellent condition despite the monsoon weather we have been experiencing lately.

The lads on the day found the going tough as the scores would indicate.  Standing atop the podium was Takeshi Hakozaki with 35 points and he was followed up the podium steps by Bernard Green with 33.  It was left to Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw to close the flight podium with just 30 points.

Wednesday, Sept. 14, Treasure Hill – Stableford

1st Chris Martin (14) 32pts

2nd Kevin Rogers (11) 30pts

3rd Peter Henshaw (23) 30pts

Treasure Hill was the task at hand for the Lewiinski’s gang on Wednesday, and we all know this is a very tough nut to crack.  It must be said that considering the amount of rain we have had recently the course was in fine condition, but even so it proved to be too much of a challenge for the boys today as no player matched their handicap.

Leading the boys into the barn was the man riding a purple patch, Chris Martin, with 32 points and he added today’s win to his Sunday medal victory.  Chris was two shots clear of two of Lewiinski’s best, Kevin ‘the thunder from down under’ and Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw, and when the mud had settled it was Kevin who got to stand on the second step of the podium, leaving Peter with his second third place finish of the week.

Friday, Sept. 16, Burapha A & B – Stableford

1st John Bland (14) 38pts

2nd Marcus Earp (29) 38pts

3rd Kevin Rogers (12) 36pts

A small but select field took to the road today to play Burapha A + B nines.  Rain threatened but did not interrupt play and the weather was not too hot and with a slight breeze.

Two long time Lewiinski regulars, Jimmy ‘two shots’ Elphick and Adam Barton fought out a tight game in their private battle, which ended in a tie when Jim answered Adam’s 2 on the last par 3 with a par, but Jim had a shot on the hole.

The winner on the day was John Bland with 38 points but he needed the aid of a count back decision over the unlucky Marcus Earp.  Kevin ‘the thunder from down under’ Rogers rounded out the flight with a sound even par round.

Note: Lewiinski’s is situated on Pattaya land Soi 1, Beach Rd Soi13/13 near Walking Street.  Anyone wishing to play with us just pop in and add your name to the list or call Peter on 0861396301. Transport is provided.
