The North Star Library on Sukhumvit Road, north Pattaya holds regular Thai language classes Mon – Fri from 10.30 till 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. Cost of admission is 100 baht per session for library members and 200 baht for non-members. Private lessons are also available for 200 baht per hour. In addition, the library also holds Yoga training every Tuesday from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Father Ray Foundation. Groups & Associations

The Royal British Legion Thailand meets the last Saturday of every month from 2 p.m. at the Tropical Bar on Soi Khao Noi (Watboonsampan near the Temple entrance) in East Pattaya. You do not need to have served in the Armed Forces to become a member and can join in the many social events arranged throughout the year. The Samaritans of Thailand English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. Events

The next meeting of the Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2. The PCEC usually presents a speaker on a topic of interest to Expats. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Pattaya’s annual charity Vegetarian Festival will be held at the Sawang Boriboon Foundation headquarters in Naklua from September 30 to October 10. Free vegetarian food will be available for all to enjoy during this period.

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will hold a quiz night at the Amari Hotel Pattaya on Saturday, October 1, starting at 7.30 p.m. (doors open at 6.30 p.m.) Form a team of six people or just turn up on your own and you will be assigned to a team. The 5th Charity Motorcycle Ride in aid of the Camillian Social Center in Rayong will take place on Sunday, Oct. 9. NB: *All makes & types of motorcycle are welcome* The start time is 2 p.m. and once at the Camillian Center cold, soft drinks will be served and a bike handling exhibition will be performed by Ultimate Control. The Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival & Competition 2016 will be held on Saturday, October 29 at the Siam Bayshore Pattaya. The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival will be held this year on November 25-26 along Pattaya Beach Road. The festival is a pyrotechnic competition between multiple countries and also includes parades, live music and traditional dance shows. Each country gives a short snippet of their firework show on the first day, followed by a full 45-minute performance on the final day.
